Amor Milagre Parent & Child Book Collection Ethically Handmade back 1 amormilagre.com

You can find your harmonic family groove where everyone is heard and building positive days off of fulfilled basic needs.  Basic needs absolutely include emotional health because without feeling LOVE, health declines and destructive habits set firmly in, usually evolving into more dangerous and disconnected variations.  Give children every chance of staying purely themselves by listening and helping with what they need, and not always what you think is best for them, but what is truly best for them.  Children are always telling us who they are, so give the gift of peace and love by listening and embracing their wonderful, unique soul life force.  Lessen the waves of conflict that surge over us, those that teaching us repeated lessons of how to stand up for our true Selves.  Research your lifetimes in your Akashic Records through meditation to get to know your Soul.  Each lifetime can be stronger in our sense of the Self, but to do so, we must appreciate each person for who they are.  Life is not meant to be “that’s the way it is.”  Life is meant to GROW in light and Love, ever-changing to stay the Self, and ripple out healthy energy for all to connect in Love.

New Books are coming up!  Please see my note at the bottom of this page to keep in mind when reading my work.

Home Renovation Design Diaries: Choosing Empowering & Healing Artwork

Amor Milagre A Gentle Life Collection Custom Interior Design Atelier Service Ethical Romantic Gift Shop female empowerment art choosing empowering and healing artwork amormilagre.com
Atelier Amor Milagre custom interior design, amormilagre.com

At home, at Christmas Rose Cottage, I love richly romantic art, empowering for all genders, depicting gentle, natural scenes to encourage self reflection and a very personal relationship with the higher Self, the inner and true self.  Be it my own loving artwork or prints of passions from long ago, little higher selves can live around these positive images, choose their own, and always look within for whole health Love to feel their bright light of love shining out into the universe, forever glowing for their true hearts to be in their world with clear senses.

Change your artwork with the season if you like to infuse your days with cozy, natural inspiration.  Wander a museum, art gallery, online art history research, or your pencil and paper.  What kind of artwork imagery are you drawn to?  Where do our connections come from?  What, or who, we connect to from forever ago, yes it may be familiar, but we can still choose, now in this moment, is this helpful or harmful?  What feelings does an image, or soul, invoke?  Familiar doesn’t have to mean positive…or negative…we have a choice.  Peace and love this day, holiday, and all days ahead. Design is powerful and so are all of our choices, which imagery is peaceful and calming for you?  Surround yourself in what you Love, XOXO ~ Amor Milagre

Home Renovation Design Diaries & Tips: Yoga Painting

Amor Milagre Yoga Painting Home Renovation Diaries Designer Tips Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com

Flocks of W’s and V’s wrap up the walls of our new home at Christmas Rose Cottage.  Patch, sand, prime, paint, repeat.  Stretch and bend, over, under, on tiptoes, and balanced on ladders.  How tall are you, what is your reach, and how tall are the ceilings?  Which tools could help you ergonomically paint your darling home?

I’ve received some questions about renovating.  Here are some painting tips.  Your best friend is practice, nothing fancy, but your home will look fancy!

  • Rollers & Extenders:  I find an extender useful with a roller for the middle to top in one position, then stretch to bend for the bottom.  With so much to do, the body needs care and caution.  For high ceilings, steady ladders and a good extender help your back.  This also helps to finish the job much faster and smoother.
  • Angled paint brushes are great for striking out ceilings, woodwork, and corners.  Go slow and steady.  You can always touch up ceilings later if a bristle flecks paint.
  • Use No VOC paint and open windows.  Towels under closed doors help other rooms stay unscented.
  • Tiny art brushes are great for narrow window grid trim.  Painting tape keeps trim and window glass clean.  Use the tape like a straight edge.  Pull it to bend, and press to seal.  This reminded me of my 2D foundation design class for colour theory.  We taped boards to layer shapes and colours with paint and matte medium.  Once you get the trick of it, by practicing, you’ll never scrape paint off glass again.
  • Stretch like in yoga.  Bend, balance, strengthen, but don’t breathe in the paint. 🙂
  • Reuse rollers and brushes by keeping in airtight bag during a project.  Wash when done with a colour, and let dry.  If painting many areas, a rotating routine helps by having several brushes and rollers to use.  Label colours on each bag and set with matching paint can.
  • *Don’t spray the paint as it’s unhealthy for your breathing air.
  • Playing music, for whichever mood you’re ready for, helps you sway with the brushstrokes.  Take your time to save time.
  • I like to paint the trim and doors the same as the wall for a serene aesthetic.
  • Taking breaks is good for muscles, drying times, and an energy boost.  Eating well and sleeping early helps complete renovations faster with less frustrating accidents.  I like to map out a painting routine for the week with room goals.  It helps keep track of what is done, and what is ready to do next.
  • Supportive shoes, ones you don’t mind getting a bit painty, lend strength and longevity to painting sessions.
  • Tarps help keep splatters off floors and walls.  Burlap ones rattle less than plastic ones when windows are open.
  • Temperature is important.  Is the humidity right?  Is it warm enough to paint?  Stir paint before using.
  • Check and clean up as you go.  Check for drips, and smooth out overlap marks.
  • Remove hardware when possible and reattached later.  Tape and cover permanent hardware to keep it unpainted and useful.
  • Use the right paint for each surface.  All your work is worth the energy if the paint stays nice and doesn’t chip due to the wrong paint choice.  Look at the labels.  Trim paint for wood trim.  Wall paint and often paint/primer all in one for walls.  Anything metal, plastic, or other, find the matching paint type.  Ask the shop for advice.
  • Check the paint colour on the chip to see if it was mixed properly before leaving the store.  Check the colour with a sample before ordering large gallon quantities.  Paint a spot on each wall to check how light and shadow change your colour.
  • Surface preparation is key for smooth walls.  Fill in cracks, holes, and dents.  Sand smooth and prime.  Check before painting.

When choosing paint colours, the natural light and room purpose are important to consider.  Look for healthy no-VOC paint options.  Find the family of colours you like, then choose one with enough earthiness for a soothing countenance.  Try it on every wall to see the shadows at all times of day.  What feels comforting to you?

Any more reno questions, I’ll be here painting, and I’ll get back to you once I wash my painty hands.  Happy Colours!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Q & A Miniview with Amor Milagre: A Scrumptious Trio

Amor Milagre Q & A Miniviews A Scrumptious Trio Ginger Root Organic Vegan Recipes Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Apparel Baby & Child food amormilagre.com

Thank you for all your lovely questions, comments, shares, and stories this past year.  In this Miniview (Mini Q & A Interview Series), I’ll answer one question at a time.

Q:  What are your favorite food combinations for cooking family dinners?

A:  I have many, but for Winter, I really love organic ginger root, garlic, and shallots together…in everything!  It works gently in sauces, soups, appetizers, on vegetables, in dips, and with fruit to create a softness.  The scent fills the house with a warm, cozy cloud of sweet ginger.  Our bodies love it because it really helps boost the immune system and keep us healthy with all the germs about in town.  I like to sauté these three, minced, in olive oil, salt, and pepper, on low heat.  When tender, add in other things or add it on top of others.  We’ll be growing these in our new garden, here at Christmas Rose Cottage, this Spring -Summer -Autumn.  This healthy superfood grouping is soothing for the senses and for stomachs, little and big.  Ginger was very helpful for maternity illness.  I find natural foods so beautiful.  The garlic’s airy winged shells, the ginger’s aromatic colour, and my tearful shallotful eyes try to admire their lilac and russet hues fading into one another.

I have included this trio in my new Cookbooks, releasing in 2020.  A new Film Series that involves some organic vegan recipe ‘How To’s’ is also on the menu.  More Q & A’s are coming up!  Please message your questions here.  Happy Holiday Cooking!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

It’s December.  We stroll along frosted garden moss.  Air, crisp and cool.  Raining and snowing, freezing and thawing, the water and ice activate seeds of beauty for Spring blooms.  White ruffles and velvety family bedtime tales cozy up in this special room, ready to be made over.  After painting and flooring, this master bedroom renovation reveal will soon be shared.  What a pleasure it is to collect items for each room’s mood over time.  Oceanic artwork, cuddly pillows, poofy comforters, and frosty curtain mornings invoke ancient stories, falling onto jeweled journals, and the teacup swirls.  Shell studies from walks on the beach lay on open pages of hand-torn printing paper.  Feel the edges and textures here.  Precious, adored, delicate, strong, powerful, and wise.  A room that feels like floating on ocean waves and tucked up in a soft shell, safe and sweet, yet cool, energizing, and centering.  For custom interior design, message me with your details.  What do you want your space to feel like?  Which moods do you Love?  From Christmas Rose Cottage, I’m wishing you a serene holiday season full of rejuvenation and peaceful rest…XOXO ~Amor Milagre

10 Things to Do at First Snowfall, Early Winter Holiday Traditions 2019

Amor Milagre 10 Things to Do at First Snowfall, Early Winter Holiday Traditions 2019 Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Art Baby & Child Parent Family brick white paint amormilagre.com

Painting It White!  The trees, the walls, the cracks between garden stones, the sky, the chimney, the windows, and the page.  A world transformed over night!  There are many fun things to do at the first snowfall, and here are ten ideas to try.  Happy Early Holidays! XOXO ~Amor MilagreAmor Milagre 10 Things to Do at First Snowfall, Early Winter Holiday Traditions 2019 Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Art Baby & Child Parent Family paper snowflakes kids amormilagre.com

At first snowfall this year, we’re doing these 10 things and lots more to come:

  1. As the seasons change, so do we.  We slow down by changing mindsets from gardening outside to playing in the snow:  making snow animals & angels, taking snowy strolls, and going sledding.
  2. The music selection changes to more cheerful holiday favourites, cozy moody winter songs, and ancient lullabies.
  3. The menu switches from light garden fare to sumptuous soups and stews, homemade bread, and sweet roasted vegetables such as squash, pumpkin, and potatoes.
  4. Journaling to process the previous season, which was quite busy, is always a good relief, source of relaxation, and goal inspiration for the season ahead.  This helps to live in and enjoy the present moment.
  5. Attention to the other side of nature, the structures, is a fascinating study of mine, and will soon be reflected in new Winter Collections.  How do the branches intersect?  How does each snowflake lay softly down?  Who darts up trees and perches by your window in beautifully coloured furs and feathers?
  6. The quiet stillness is a productive time for empaths and creatives.  We can unwind and let go, thus allowing so many new positive messages and expressions to be effortlessly released.
  7. Decorating is so much fun for all ages.  We love having Dear Ones over to decorate the tree.  Little touches, simple and uncluttered, allows us to see the room and the baubles.  At the first sign of snowflakes, we swiftly got out the white paper and scissors, and made our craft for the day:  windows of snowflakes, each one unique.
  8. We adore letter writing and card sending with picture updates and newsy notes on what is happening here, in town, and with Dear Ones.  Decorating the back of envelopes is fun for little artists.
  9. As the snow lightens the exterior, we lighten the interior with fresh paint to reflect the natural light.
  10. A delicious pleasure is to change out accent pillow cases, bedding, art in frames, and little dinnerware pieces to be more full of holly, velvet, and wintery warmth.

The new house designs are planned and will be excitedly shared here as each room is updated.  Good designs take time to grow just as a garden evolves in time.  A house is not finished and full all at once.  Over the years, we can make and stumble upon things to adorn the walls and sketchbooks.  Renovations will be appearing in this Amor Milagre journal and design books in the coming seasons.  Our new home will provide more time for me to release many collections, as well as a quieter lifestyle for our family.  We hope no one pollutes our new reverie as they did our darling Dove Cottage.  All the good memories we do have from this house are layered with the stress of the sound pollution.  We look forward to truly wonderful and healthy memories.

My book characters were born here, inspiring silly dreams at bedtime, many of which are still waiting to jump into the Shop.  My husband hand-cleared the land for the house, made paths in the woods by walking his adored daily stroll in the trees years before we met.  Later, we married in our wooded haven.  We watched a family of deer cross the snowy yard every twilight.  Toys danced on the new FSC Certified flooring and little hands circled their first crayon masterpiece, making first storybooks.  New vegan recipes shined in the organic no-dig garden and were enjoyed at the table.  Illustrations graced the walls, beautifully papered with non-toxic, unscented materials.  Radiant heat kept us cozy in the cold months, and mini-split heat pumps cooled us on hot days.  All would have been more enjoyable if we could feel the breeze through our new rooms, but the sound pollution from machines, highways, deforestation, and disrespectful new neighbours increased to a level so hard to exist in, our beautiful new large windows that brought Nature in, had to stay closed.  No open fresh air means ill health, even with a mechanical ventilation system.  Where is common curtesy?  Where is compassion?  Where are manners and human dignity?  Where is Love for all living things?  We’re hopefully moving there…or at least we will continue to encourage these loving practices wherever we go…

‘Dove Cottage’ is only now ‘finished’ because we are leaving it.  A home is never ‘done’, but rather it changes over time and when in new hands.  We only just now finished the interior projects in order to move, some varying from our plans, and after all of our work, we haven’t even been able to live in the finished spaces due to our hastened move caused by sound pollution.  Though we did carve out some lovely exterior gardens, we haven’t had time to finish the garden plans around the house to share.  Our sacrifice, work, money, muscle, patience, and every second from the past several years was dedicated to Dove Cottage.  All was done by our loving hands and imagination with good health in mind for each choice.  We told the house to share the Loving Energy we gave her to the new owners and visitors.

***Amor Milagre, and our family, is in no way associated with any new owners, but our original designs of this house are copyrighted:  All Rights Reserved © 2011-2019 Amor Milagre.  I will finish and release some projects that include imagery from this house, but if any images of our house are shared online that are not by myself, Amor Milagre, then please remember that it is not us and we are not responsible for them or any messages or actions they put out into the Universe.  The internet sometimes connects images, but the sources are often lost, so please do not confuse Amor Milagre with anyone else.  The house will look similar to how it does now, as fixtures, wallpaper, paint colours, curtains, and other items are staying.  Of course, any changes to the designs going forward are not done by us and we are not associated with or responsible for new or changed designs after we move.  We are not them, and they are not us.  We simply designed and made this house.  Our new house will be our home and the new place of Atelier Amor Milagre (Design Studio & Office).

*Humans need to realize what they are doing to their own lives and everything all over.  Deforestation destroys ecosystems and sound barriers.  Machines (and neighbours even after speaking to them and then reporting them) need to stop polluting in every way.  We hope to regain our hearing that was lost and to recover from illnesses and stress made by constant sound pollution.  It is very serious and needs awareness to be made for it in order for healthy long-term changes to be made worldwide.  We hope to build a new home to last many lifetimes in a peaceful place for good health, and not suffer anymore from the selfishness of others.  That was what our Dove Cottage was supposed to be and why every second was pushed for it so that at some point we could settle in and truly live.  The nomadic life is exhausting and upsetting.  Everyone craves ‘home’, wherever that is for them.  We simply want to go home.

Leaving our home was made worse by the current system for selling and buying.  The real estate system is dysfunctional and massively problematic to endure.  It has failed us since Spring.  It is completely unorganized, out of order, and one late email or misplaced paper from any one of the many people involved can cause an entire deal to fall apart after the last second is up.  The incredibly hectic, unrealistic way it operates is unacceptable.  Everyone who speaks of it has their own terrible tale.  We have informed the ‘people in charge’ of this system of healthy ideas for a complete redesign of this industry.  You can use your voice to change this system.  Find your state board of realtors to let them know how troubling this system is.  They are aware of the issues, but don’t even apologize for it.  “That’s the way it is…” they say.  For everyone’s sake, they need to change it.  It’s not a nice work day for them either.  For us, it’s been yet another challenge to untangle.  We don’t want to just get through it, forget it, and move on to more positive things because, if there is an issue that affects everyone, we must try to change it to be positive for everyone.  It is still our problem even after we move.  What if we have to move again, or our friend needs to move, or anyone needs to move?  We don’t want the same system to impair our children’s life later on..or now.  There is no steadiness for planning.  Everything is last minute and you can’t count on it.  It causes you to tell your children unreliable information and that is confusing and distressing to your daily life, memories, and planning.  Every detail of life is on hold and disturbed for who knows how long.  The fees are too high, and not affected by poor performance; there is no pay reduction consequence for missing deadlines or poor communication.  We had to do most of the work ourselves to get anything done.  Another industry that needs more care, healthier options, and to charge less is the construction business.  We build our houses ourselves because we have to, even though we have very little time with both of us working full time jobs and parenting.  The local contractors overcharge and don’t provide healthy practices or good craftsmanship.  They also pollute your home, as does the real estate system, even when scent/pollution rules are set for showings and appointments.

***We really care about what we do, whether that is making a family dinner, designing our home, or painting up collections for the Amor Milagre Shop.  What we all do matters greatly to everyone and our Selves.

Each industry needs a re-design with Good Health for All as the focus.  What industries have you been involved in or have experience with?  How can you make healthy choices and changes?  Let’s not ignore problems.  Let’s resolve them.

We dearly hope to at long last be settled and sleep well, even though we have to start over once again, rebuilding an old house, after building an efficient lovely new one with amazing healthy features and non-toxic sustainable beautiful materials.  It’s amazing how truly hard it has been, having a baby, being ill, working, building, enduring and rebuilding our life every day just because the people around us do not care about their effect on the world.  All with little to no sleep due to neighbours and highways (deforestation).  Not being able to open the windows due to sound pollution causes so many illnesses and all can be prevented.  Fresh air, oxygen, is vital.  The nervous system and immune system need to feel safe, quiet, calm, and nurtured for good whole health.  Trusting your instincts is important, but exhausting if all you hear is threatening sound pollution.  Life does not need to be so difficult, complex, and painful.  Life, by Nature, is absolutely beautiful, if we let it be beautiful for all of us, every day connecting with Nature.  Be aware, be kind, be sensical, be gentle, be loving, be purely you!  XOXO  ~Amor Milagre

A Tomato that Tastes like a Tomato

Amor Milagre Heirloom Tomatoes Organic Garden Farm Summer Harvest 2019 Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Gift Shop Art Baby & Child amormilagre.comTo grow a tomato that tastes like a tomato, the old ways are beautiful, flavourful, and healthy.  Let the bugs roam, let the sun shine, let the rain fall, and let plants be natural in Nature.

We love to plant organic, non-GMO, heirloom tomato seeds, in a sunny spot each year, on a fresh layer of homemade organic plant compost, in our organic no-dig edible plant garden.  Clear other plants from the bottom layer for optimal air flow and remove lower leaves after they’ve grown strong and healthy.  (No sprays or chemicals.  No tools needed).  Enjoy the colours and taste of all kinds of lovely tomatoes!  Plant organic basil nearby for a delicious salad picnic in the garden.  Guiding the plants, watching the flowers and bees, and being a helper of Nature feels amazing.  We love to take a closer look and thank Mamma Nature for her beautiful designs, colours, textures, scents, sounds, and tastes.  We’re fascinated by her natural packaging, recycling, and life cycles.  We also save the tomato seeds for planting new plants and label with the date.

Heirloom tomatoes taste wonderful and have old origins.  The seeds were passed down from generations of gardeners.  They are heirlooms like a beautiful antique gift from your ancestors, but these gifts produce gorgeous food over and over again to sustain a healthy family of growers.

Remember to:  Support your local organic plant farmers and gardeners at local markets, restaurants, and shops.  Get your hands dirty.  It feels good to connect to the Earth and grow healthy food for yourself, Dear Ones, and your community.  Children love to grow and eat their own garden.  One handful of seeds grows an abundance of healthy food to be eaten that day and preserved for the year.  Grow flavours, colours, quality, and good health in your garden all year round.  Plants are best when eaten when in season, ripe, fresh, and kissed by the sun.  Happy Late Summer Foods!  Enjoy Nature: The Best Show on Earth!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

10 Helpful Healthy Energy Tips For Calm Meditation

Amor Milagre 10 Helpful Tips For Calm Meditation Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Organic Baby & Child Books amormilagre.com

When you feel like you’ve done too much, it’s not time to do more.  Pause, Stop. Rest…  Unwind with meditation to remember how to truly rest all of you.  Here are 10 helpful tips for calm meditation for all ages.  Take gentle care of you. xoxo ~Amor Milagre

  1.   Eat fresh plant foods and hydrate.  Stretch slowly to circulate any trapped chemicals in your body.  Drink water to improve the flow.
  2.   Routines that build energy help you.  Matching low energy with unhealthy foods and negative habits harms you.  What is helpful?  What grows positive habits?  What gives you energy?
  3.   Breathe fresh air.  See the leaves and seasons change.  Harmonize with Nature’s rhythms.
  4.   A calm space where you feel safe and are able to sit or lay still and quietly is helpful to unwind into meditation.  With practice, you can meditate in any place.
  5.   Open and unwind.  If you’re unsure how to begin, try resting quietly, without added layers of sound.  If you have trouble with this, a guided meditation can help you build a meditation routine into your memory to use any time you need to let go and refocus.  Use something as low-tech as possible.  You can even write your own guide and read aloud before beginning.  Natural sounds are helpful for connecting to Nature, so open a window or visit a garden.  A comfortable position, balanced for your spine and posture, and able to breathe in your best way, is helpful for grounding down into the Earth.  If you can, go outside, remove shoes, and ground your energy down, energizing from the Earth’s core.
  6.   Keep a small and large perspective for a balance of calm reflection and revitalization.
  7.   A healthy skincare and Self care routine helps before meditation so you feel settled and fresh, ready to explore knowing your Higher and Inner Self.  Unplug electronics for a quiet space.  Low lighting is soothing.  A soft eye mask or a cloth over your eyes can help block light, and with lavender or other favourite scented plants, you can ease into feeling your senses and awareness more naturally.
  8. An hour to let go, explore, and open helps you to not rush or dwell too long.  Release any pressure for specific goals or expectations.  What will come will surface.  Listen with your heart, open.
  9. Maintaining a healthy meditation routine helps you to keep your energy, so you don’t dip too low, lacking energy.  Humans’ ways and routines are often energy zappers for others, so be mindful to create your own unique routines for your unique needs.
  10.   You can heal your Self with breathing, processing, and letting go.  Trust your Self to take care of you, and you can take care of your whole Self, your Soul, and the Universe.

10 Things I’ve Loved Since Childhood, The Imagination of the Senses

Amor Milagre 10 Things I've Loved Since Childhood, The Imagination of the Senses 2019 Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Apparel Organic Vegan Baby & Child childhood memories amormilagre.com

Whether you’re a parent or a child at heart, remembering your favourite childhood memories is beneficial for a happy, healthy lifestyle at any age.  How did it feel to fly down the street on your bicycle, wind on your face, and freedom in your heart?  Here are just 10 things I’ve Loved since childhood.  No matter what else was going on, Nature was my reverie for funny ideas and soothing rhythms.  Speaking to your Inner Self and Inner Child helps you have fun every day.  This practice also helps you to teach your children how to have good, simple fun, anywhere at any time.  What do you like to do in your imagination of the senses?  Happy Spring!

  1.  Swinging with my hair down in the breeze.
  2. Walking up a hill, climbing a tree, and watching the sunset’s beautiful colours each night.
  3. Carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating on Halloween.
  4. Swimming in the ocean in light rain.
  5. Drawing pictures of anything.
  6. Running barefoot in the grass when it’s lightly raining in the summer.
  7. Making up stories and silly games outside in Nature with a friend from down the street.
  8. Dancing with the fireflies in the magical summer evenings.
  9. Designing my ideal town of kindness with chalk on the driveway, and then wheeling around on the tiny roads.
  10. Eating watermelon and tomatoes in the garden.

Of course there are some more, but these were sitting in my eyes.  Everything I Loved then, still lives in my mind now, so it’s easy to have innocent, real fun because I’ve been practicing it since then.  Remember, there is no age that you can reach that says you’re not allowed to laugh and play.  So laugh, so play, have a lovely time today!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Colour Mood Outfit & Gift Guide: Lilac & Black + Ethical Fashion & Personal Style Tips 2019

Amor Milagre Spring Fashion Personal Style 2019 Lilac Purple & black clasp vintage handbag 1940's colour mood Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Organic Women's amormilagre.com

A vintage handbag is a marvelous traveller.  With her dusty pleats and still working clasp, a chic bracelet handle carries me back to her first wearer’s energy, in the 1940’s.  How did she waltz all over the world?  In understated style.  This post shows that a simple pairing lends effortless style to your daily wears.  Lilac is the light tips of emerging iris bulb blooms, and black is the shadowy Earth below.  Inspired by Nature and the Senses, XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Designer Tip of the Day:  Simple Pairings

(Featured in my Upcoming Design Book).

A pairing of 1-2 colours keeps an outfit chic and simple.  Here, a pale silky lilac lace camisole and a dusty ribbed black crop trouser create texture contrast and complement one another softly.  Delicate gold jewelry subtly smiles in the mirror of the hardware on a favourite vintage 1940’s handbag.  This simple way of throwing together an ensemble is effortless to do and to perceive.  Pair with espadrilles in a pale nude pink, a straw hat or black beret.  Have a stroll about the gardens and wander through town, settling at a local cafe for hot chocolate and music.  A gentle outfit helps a gently thoughtful day unfold.

Q & A Interview with Amor Milagre: Art Design Books School Work Health Vegan Garden Life Style

Amor Milagre Q&A Interview 2019 Purple Iris Flower Favourite Series Non-Toxic Health Spring Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Gift Shop Art Vegan Baby & Child Dewdrop amormilagre.com

Thank you for all your lovely questions, comments, shares, and stories this past year.  I reply personally as messages come in, but I wanted to take a moment to answer a few of the repeating questions here. (All text is included in my current and upcoming books).  This post is a part of a new series called Q&A Interviews.  Thank you for asking and Happy Spring! XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Q:  What are your favorite recipes and foods?

A:  My favourite foods are simple and raw such as strawberries and tomatoes.  We love seasonally sun-ripened fruit and vegetables from our garden.  I write simple, fresh, delicious recipes, influenced by European, peasant-style, zero-waste cooking.  My favourite recipe right now would be our healthy green smoothie that we have every mid-morning.  I’m including the recipe in my upcoming vegan organic cookbook collection. We eat fresh organic food, mostly from our gardens; other food is from a natural, healthy, local organic shop featuring produce from local farms.  These foods help heal and prevent illness.  They taste naturally sweet and full of unique flavours.

Q:  What kind of camera do you use?  How do you get such clear pictures?

A:  I use a small, simple digital camera.  It’s not about the kind of camera you use, it’s more about how you see your world, and that perception translates into the closest camera version for screen and print.  Thank you for all your lovely comments about my photos!  I very much enjoy photography.  My senses love natural imagery as much as the sounds, touch, taste, scents, and energy of Nature.  I began by using an old manual camera, which I like the most.  The shutter click alone….lovely!  Until I can make a dark room again, I’ll use this little digital camera.  Make sure your lens is clean for clear pictures, and see it first with your senses and heart.  It’s more about you, and not your camera.

Q:  My kids love your books!!!  They get so silly!  We like trying out the games and ideas from your books.  As a mother, I find the routines helpful.  What were your favorite books when you were little?

A:  Thank you!  My goal is to encourage the imagination for children of all ages, 0-1000+.  As a little one, I loved the Jungle Book, Winnie the Pooh, Ziggy, Beatrix Potter, Tasha Tudor, The Secret Garden, faerie stories, and tons more.  It’s fun to read all of the new books.  We adore the worlds of so many books, and now my books are recited here daily!  It’s a fun cycle to share your own world through children’s books.  We have lots of new favourite books now, too.  We request books from the library before adding them to our holiday wishlists.  Libraries are really important for every community and to house all the old and new books.  I now share our Favourite Book Reading Lists here on my organic lifestyle journal.

Q:  What are you favorite cities?  Do you teach classes when traveling?

A:  My favorite cities so far are:  Lucca, Positano, Perugia, Assisi, San Gimignano, (Tuscany, Amalfi, Umbria) in Italy, Rouen, Étretat, Le Havre in France, Bruges in Belgium, and quiet sleepy towns on the ocean with fresh food.  I would have loved to travel all over, but I was ill for a long time.  Hopefully, wherever we move next is my favourite!  In the future, we may teach classes while travelling, and that info will be posted here.  Thanks!

Q:  I love your style!!!  How did you come up with such a unique look?

A:  Thank you!  I try things.  I like styles from various ages.  I can’t help but be myself.  Being sensitive, I’m very aware of what speaks to me, what fits well, and is comfortable.  I sense how patterns, colours, and textures play with one another.  Each body is unique, and we all have our own world of evolving style.  Look within instead of copying others and your style will accumulate naturally.  I make most of my own clothing, which you’ll see in my upcoming organic collections here in my shop. I also try to only wear/use fabric and materials that are organic, sensitive, healthy, non-toxic, soft, durable, and ethical.  It’s important to know how a company’s process works in totality before buying from them.  Look for truly ‘transparent’ brands.  I list everything about my current and upcoming organic apparel collections on my site so customers can see exactly what the product is and that I made it with Love.  Fashion and style are different.  Style is you, fashion is them.  Style is constant/evolving, and fashion is fleeting/cyclical.  More information about sustainable, personally customized wardrobes is featured in my upcoming design style book collection. I’m always interested in learning about new cultures and attire.  Playing with design allows new ideas to form in my hands.  Just like in gardening, the hands and senses measure naturally and the most accurately when making something.

Q:  Your books are very helpful.  Where do you get your ideas?  Do you ever get writer’s block?

A:  My ideas come to me in a constant stream from all times and worlds/my senses.  I never have enough time/energy to record and produce them all.  Sadly, so many hilarious ideas are sleepily lost until hopefully found again in a different version.  No, I never get writer’s block, but I do have to take pauses and little breaks so I’m not so exhausted.  It’s the opposite issue, I have to stop myself from working all the time.  Our life is quite crowded with full days, but we’re simplifying, so I’ll release many more collections soon!  I encourage everyone to trust their own voice.  (It’s not a good idea to copy and or try to steal from others.  Only their unique perspective and experiences form their own words.  What are your words?  What do you think?)  If you feel blocked:  Release, let go, breathe, and change directions.  Go for a stroll or lay still and close your eyes.  Too much ‘go-go-going’ gets you nowhere.  Meditate on your breath and relieve the pressure.  Eat well.  Start fresh.  Let new thoughts in and balance…I sometimes teach a creative writing class.  I’ll post the info here.

Q:  Your messages are of love and peace.  Would you say you’re a pacifist?

A: Yes.  Clear communication is everything for a loving and peaceful life for all.

Q:  What kind of mediums do you work in?

A:  All kinds, mostly watercolour, pencil, charcoal.  More oil paintings are coming up, as we’re redoing the studio in future seasons.  I also enjoy sculpture, textiles & apparel, film, photography, cooking, book design, gardening, and lots more.  I hope to make a pottery studio later on and release a ceramics collection in my shop.  Watercolour bends with my mind.  It flows and it’s my favourite go-to for designing everything from interiors to apparel to book characters +…

Q:  What do you do for relaxation:

A:  Meditation, salt baths, walks outside, drawing, dancing, laughing, yoga stretching, journaling, writing, music, movies, reading as a family, and grounding in the garden and at the ocean in the fresh sea air.

Q:  When will the new apparel collections be available?

A:  2019 Summer and Autumn.  I’m very excited to release these organic handmade items into the shop.

Q:  What kinds of music do you like?  I look forward to your “music of the moment” blurb on each post.

A:  I Love many kinds of music, depending on mood, time of day, and what we’re doing.  I love gypsy violin, acoustic guitar, voices of many cultures, rock n roll, blues, jazz, holiday songs, choirs, old movie soundtracks, slow oceanic type songs, and anything that matches my energy level/frequency and feels a match of sound.  As a synesthete & empath, it’s important to soothe and release the senses with peaceful exterior stimuli, such as music, places, people, etc.  Singing is a way of relaxing and improving lung strength.  It’s also a form of meditation chanting and yoga breathing.  Moving your breath in sound is an amazing way to use your imagination and shape air.  Playing and listening to music are amazing ways to improve brain connections and memory.  Stay tuned for more mood music on these journal posts.  What songs are you listening to today?

Q:  You have a unique style of drawing and painting.  Where did you learn?  Where did you go to school?  How do I come up with my own style of art?

A:  Thank you.  I get this question quite often.  I didn’t ‘learn my style’ from anywhere specifically, it’s just my own evolving expression of my world inside and around me.  I did take a few anatomy drawing classes/design classes in school and college.  I felt it was limiting to the teacher’s preference of line style with no room for creativity there, even after ‘accomplishing’ traditional techniques.  I practice drawing all the time, and my eyes practice even when my hands aren’t drawing.  I did attend college at a ‘prestigious’ design school in NYC, but I feel anyone can learn anything without college or paying for classes.  I teach a unique children’s class (free & local), called The Crayon Club, to help everyone begin seeing through their own eyes and imagination with many other fun features.  A book for this is coming up so people everywhere can learn, too.  I also teach various types of private and group classes for all ages.  We have so much fun with our daily homeschool art class.  It’s just a part of life here, like lunch.  Art therapy for all is an amazing release and inspiration for the inner Self.  All you need is a will to learn, to request books at libraries, watch instructional videos or artist documentaries, hang out at galleries and museums, look at forms before drawing, and try out different healthy things to teach yourself, which is really what I have done.  Classes are limited to the teacher’s style, ego, and critique, so you really end up teaching yourself outside of the class.  It takes a lot of work and time to pay off college tuition.  Even if you have a full scholarship, your time is valuable.  I don’t agree with the way education is set up.  It needs a complete redesign.  ‘Education’ is really meant to be about the students and helping them design healthy lifestyles.  Everyone has special gifts and can use them in their professions, if desired.  If you choose school, make sure you take time in between/during the required curriculum to think about yourself and what you want.  We have choices in what jobs we choose, if we look for the choices.  You can even create your choices and invent customized options, like I do.  For artists, you can go to a school, or you could get a job and spend what money you have on a few pencils and paper, and save the rest for living expenses for living a healthy life.  Learn computer programs if you like, but learning to SEE first, even before drawing by hand or computer programs, is vital for a healthy vision and developing a creative flexibility in your mind.  Drawing is looking and feeling, and not much looking down at your paper, just referencing it.  There is a connection with your unique sense of perception.  Even if vision is not your primary sense, you can draw by connecting with the energy.  Draw apples, buildings, yourself in the mirror/by feeling your face, everything…then focus on your own messages and develop your own interests/style.  Most of my artwork is not in my shop yet, so remember not to limit a person’s ‘style’ to one look or what you’ve seen of their ‘portfolio’.  People can make things in different collections and ‘styles’.  Often, I teach art classes for all ages, including beginners and advanced artists who get stuck in a ‘style’, which just means stuck in life.  Be free!  Try new things for a healthy balance!

Q:  How old are you?  You sound young, but write like an older person.

A:   …   Ageless or really old, but not that old for humans in the way you’re asking about.  Old soul empaths write how they feel, what they sense…it might not always be what people understand at the present time.

Q:  Why are you a vegan?  I’m thinking about it, but it seems too limiting!

A:  For good health and peace for all, and if you research it well, you’ll see the choice is clear.  I talk a lot about this in my books and in these organic lifestyle journal posts.  I feel it’s a very important choice for respecting Nature and ourselves.  It’s not limiting to improve your health.  Like any transition, it takes a little bit to adjust, but it was all positive changes for me.  The vegan lifestyle feels healthy.  I was raised to not be vegan, so I am simply back to how I would naturally eat and live.  It’s so much easier and loving in many ways.  More on this is coming up!  Eating organic plants feels good, and there are so many options.  My cookbook collection is coming up to help with transitions and recipes!

Q:  What country are you in?  Do you ship internationally?

A:  Amor Milagre is a US based company that ships internationally.  Thanks!

Q:  You have such vision!  Why aren’t you in charge of a department in a design firm or corp?  Would you like to be? Contact me here….

A:  I’ve always seen things as they are and how beautiful they can be.  I make goals and help myself complete them.  I’ve always known that I wanted to have my own company at home.  I’m still not fully where I know I can be, but it takes so much time/health to get around other’s plans/barriers and environmentally-caused illness.  It also takes time and energy to recover from difficult maternity illnesses.  (My healthy happy parenting/children’s books encourage listening and helpful guidance to allow children to walk their unique path). During and after college, I briefly worked at large design companies (against my instincts/plan) and was offered a ‘bigger position’ of running design departments, but it was entirely wrong for me so I quit and tried to heal from illness while opening my own company.  Building the ‘something important’ that only I see, with no resources, is difficult, but to me, it’s my vocation.  I have to.  I want to.  I feel it will help.  ‘Start Small’ is one of my upcoming books, and this message is in all of my books and work.  Illness can take up so much of your life, but if allowed to choose a healthy natural lifestyle, illness fades and your work shines.  It’s in everyone’s best interest to come back to Nature and stop all types of abuse and pollution.

Working in a big company was limiting, uncreative, and the environment, unnecessary pressure, and lifestyle was ill-making.  Their practices, and the lack of healthy practices, were shocking to me.  (They didn’t even recycle).  This is why there are so many products on the shelves that don’t fit anyone, because they didn’t check anything before production.  They wasted so much, they copied bad designs, and the materials were not sustainable in the first place.  There are a lot of wasted materials and energy in production as well.  The makers are not in healthy places or paid fairly.  Communities near factories are polluted and create illness.  Life cycles are very important.  Who is reviewing the life cycles?

Having complete creative control, direction, and expression within my own company is healthy for my lifestyle…to live.  I control the materials, messages, environment, and my schedule.  Everything I make is unique and handmade.  Corporations, as I know them, are very unhealthy in their totality.  It’s frustrating because they have resources, but they are usually making the wrong choices.  A major change needs to happen for companies before it’s even worse off for the world.  I Love my company, and my customers appreciate a loving, healthy, evolving collection to adopt into their lives and homes.  We design our life to make sure our family’s health comes first.  So, no thank you for unhealthy corporation job offers.  I do consider custom design projects.  You can visit my design page, and message me with details and proposals.

Amor Milagre Q&A Interview 2019 Pink Dewdrop Flower Favourite Series Non-Toxic Health Spring Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Gift Shop Art Vegan Baby & Child amormilagre.com

Q:  Where else can I see your collections?

A:   My collections are exclusively sold here at amormilagre.com.  Amor Milagre is just me.  One person, lovingly doing everything.  I chose to do this so I can make sure everything is sustainable, handmade, accurately priced, shipped quickly, and so I can provide healthy communication with my customers.  My company is designed to be a positive place and experience.  I may do things differently, but I inspire my viewers to see that as a positive for them and for Nature.  This also allows customers to be on the computer less and go out and enjoy Nature more!  Less online comparison hunting through websites and more passion and fun!  I post updates on this journal, so everything is easy to keep up with and enjoy.

Q:  I’d like to work at Amor Milagre, how do I apply?

A:  (Please see the answer above, too).  Possibly in the future, I may choose to have a shop building address with additional company features, but for now I’m exclusively an online shop.  Thank you very much for your interest.  For those asking, I recommend one of my classes to aid in enhancing your gifts and helping you in your self-exploration journey.  Several people who ask to apply, after a chat I hear, are artists who have lost their passion and confidence.  My books can be very helpful for this, too!  Starting over can be a very positive change!  I like helping others find their passions.  You are bright stars, shine your Light!  Thank you for wanting to be a part of Amor Milagre, and you can be, by being Purely You!  I do have an upcoming series that I’ll be accepting submissions for soon.  It’s all about promoting positive changes all over the world.  Check back on this journal for details.

Q:  What are your tips for picking interior paint colors?

A:  I have many!  It depends on the project, but for all paint:  Choose durable, well made, no-VOC paint from a healthy, green company.  My upcoming design books and design atelier services provide more info for interior design advice.  Make sure your colours soothe your unique senses and lifestyle.  I do like to compliment skin tones by choosing paint that is flattering.  The home is a wonderful place to think about all kinds of customizable and pleasing design ideas.  Please message me for design projects and questions.  My Colour Moods Fashion & Personal Style Series may be helpful for finding ‘your neutrals’ and favourite colours.

Q:  Will you be teaching organic vegan cooking classes again?

A:  I’d really like to.  We’ll see if I can fit them into my 2019-2020 schedule.  I think it’s very important to share what we figure out to help others in their healthy lifestyle evolution.  Thanks, they were fun!  It feels good to help.

Q:  Who are your favorite fashion designers:

A:  Luisa Beccaria is a favourite for aesthetic inspiration, and I haven’t found any favourites for sustainability yet.  Brands would need to become more consistent and ethical before I could recommend them.  They can also talk about their chosen ethical materials. Otherwise, how is the general public, who looks at designs for inspiration rather than actual purchasing options, to know what the collections are made of?  Growing up, I followed Dries van Noten’s collection each year for colour interests and men’s shoe designs, and also various looks/designer collections from each season.  There is not really one designer that I connect with each year, except sometimes Luisa.  I really liked Dior’s 2017 SS Couture Magical Garden Fashion Show & Collection.  (This was the first couture collection from Maria Grazia Chiuri, the house’s first women’s designer).  I like collections that are imaginative, natural, feminine, sweet, yet strong in the senses.  There are a few organic children’s designers we like, but they’re not consistent enough yet to reference.  Of course, I love my own organic collections, which will be releasing in upcoming seasons, for all ages.  The fit of most brand collections, for ready to wear clothing, needs so much more attention.  I want to inspire designers to produce less, and to produce infinitely better quality than the market reflects.  Timeless designs that fit well can proudly appear every year.  Trends could be seen in a more fun way, still made well, but less quantity and pose less risk to the classic wardrobe and wallet.  ‘Design’ needs a redesign.

Q:  Why don’t you post pictures of yourself?  We want to see you?  You frustrate me when you write about things and I can’t see you doing them. 🙂

A:  Fame by physical recognition is not desirable to me because it is not real.  My universal messages of Love are the focus.  Readers can connect with Amor Milagre’s messages in a pure way, without Earthly ‘teachings’ of what to connect to by appearance.  I support my family with my specifically designed ‘A Gentle Life Collections’ by helping others connect with their inner Self for a healthy life.  This is a good time to practice using your imagination!  We do not believe it is safe to post personal pictures online.  We encourage people to keep their privacy and to not put everything online.  For example:  Wait until your children are grown up to ask their permission to post their picture online.  Ask others in your photos and in the backgrounds for their permission, before posting.  Why do you need to post personal pictures online?  It’s simply not safe.  We encourage people to develop natural friendships in their daily life, to be confident by Loving their inner Self, to not seek exterior approval, and to LIVE offline.  There are so many wonderful things to do without computers, electricity, and clicking sounds.  Go Live!  See how wonderful it is!  Laugh and smile naturally, without taking selfies…  Go breathe, without a phone app telling you when…  Personal photo albums are fun to hold and share stories with Dear Ones.  Trade printed photos with a handwritten letter. Redesign the way you see the Self.  Love Being Purely You!

Q:  Your gardens are so pretty!  I want to start a garden, but don’t know where to start?  Advice please!

A:  A passion for plants is a great start.  You can start by thinking about:  What kind of plants you like.  How much space you want to use.  How to prepare it, whether it’s soil outside or pots on a balcony.  Colours and moods you desire and adore.  Bookmarking gardening books from the library and using a Pinterest folder for gardens are good ways to organize and review what you like.  Narrow your admirations down to a few to start with.  Create a simple structure and start with a few plants.  Seeds are a great way to start.  Planting bulbs with patience and Love in a natural planting arrangement is fun.  Edit as you go and learn.  Start with a few to learn how to care for each type of plant.  Perennials are helpful, beautiful, and economical.  How much time do you have before you want to see blooms?  Do you want organic edible plants?  Visit local gardens and conservatories for inspiration.  More info can be found in my books, these journal posts, my upcoming gardening books, and in the gardening section of your library.  Plant what you Love!  A garden is a friend who adores you and provides so many healthy benefits.  No garden is too small to enjoy!

Q:  What is your favorite vacation spot?

A:  Home on Sundays.  It’s quieter on this speck of Earth on Sundays, and we love pajamas.

Thank you, and I’ll pause the Q&A for now.  Most messages are answered personally.  I did receive quite a few questions about how to best frame my artwork collections.  I will be releasing some inspiring information about this soon!

It’s a new Season so time to rest, be cozy, explore, and enjoy simple Springtime pleasures.  Thanks and please check back for upcoming collection releases!  ~Amor Milagre

The Favourite Series: May Garden Children’s Books Reading List

Amor Milagre May 2019 Favourite Series Garden Children's Book Reading List Spring Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Gift Shop Art Vegan Baby & Child amormilagre.com

We love books and gardening, so when the stories are set in the garden, the imagination tangles like vines and brings us outside to read in our Children’s Garden.  Planting seeds in the Earth and positive seeds in our minds are healthy ways to celebrate the glorious Springtime!

To start your own children’s garden:  Find a little place and plant favourite seeds, chosen by children.  Little hands find little stones and moss to make pathways, faerie houses, and spots for new flowers and herbs.  Explore daily to enjoy new sprouts and blooms.  Open the imagination and unfold stories waiting under leaves and branches.  Divide and replant perennials each year to expand your garden.  If in a small space, pots are helpful. Some are specially designed to stack for vertical colour.  Create a wall of vines and climbing flowers for faeries to sleep in.  Breathe in your fresh healthy garden.  Teach your hands how to measure a garden naturally.  Children of all ages from 0-1000+ can enjoy the Love a garden gives.  Grow and eat organic foods to boost immune systems and give energy for daily play.  Fresh air is vital for a healthy body and mindset.  Leaves and petals inspire a most sincere connection with Nature.  Happy Mother Nature and Happy Mother’s Day!  A garden is pure magic to all who befriend her.  These book covers are beautiful around the house, and their pages are positive senses in the library of childhood memories.

This Children’s Book Reading List (View More Here) is a part of my new ‘Favourite Series’ which I’ll add to each season.  I can only recommend the books on this list in the means of imagination, and not always for how each book is made.  The only books on this list that I know for sure are ethically made are my own handmade books.  All of my books feature the benefits of gardens.  They are inspired by how the senses connect with Nature.  The books here are chosen by the young, and as a parent, I agree that these are helpful and beautiful.  This is the children’s list!  I won’t write our impressions, as it’s best to allow your first impression to be purely your own.  It is hard to choose only a few to share, so many more children’s book reading lists are coming up!  Happy Reading & Spring Gardening!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Favourite Baskets: Ethical Fashion Handbag, Market Shopping, Home Design, & Garden

Amor Milagre A-Tisket A-Tasket Basket 6 Home Decor Interior Design Spring Ethical Organic Apparel Collection 2019 toddler Handmade Gift Shop Art Apparel Vegan Baby & Child Easter amormilagre.com

A-tisket, a-tasket, we love our favourite baskets.  A different basket for each task-et.  To continue growing the ‘Favourite Series’, I’m sharing tips and info about our favourite gathering of baskets for:  home, personal style, organic cooking & gardening, and chic Spring-Summer handbags.

Some of our uses for these baskets are:  daily handbag, dry produce, fresh garden produce, mail, kitchen & dining linens, garden planters, books, laundry, food shopping in town, picnics, office/wardrobe/mudroom storage, special supplies, baby & doll bassinet, organic beauty products, and storage for family outtings.

One positive choice influences another.  Perhaps a market basket will inspire you to support your local organic farmers, taking healthy walks to gather your food. A natural home inspires us to go out and balance in Nature.  What do you use baskets for?

Using well made baskets is ethical, economical, and texturally pleasing.  To maximize your sustainability, you can learn to make your own baskets.  This really comes in handy when a repair is needed.  This journal text appears in my upcoming Design Book, so check back for more!

Designer Tip of the Day:

When choosing a basket, it’s helpful to think about:

~The main use and other possible purposes.  What are you storing or carrying in it?

~Colours, textures, sizes, smoothness, and weights.  A balance of differences creates a peaceful design.

~Where will the basket live and how will it be used?

~Who made it?  Were they paid fairly?  What is it made of?  Is it non-toxic so it doesn’t off-gas in your home or cause illness to those making the products?

~How much joy will it bring you to use a hand-crafted piece?

~Is there a local basket weaver in your area?

~Are the handles and straps comfortable to use and securely attached?

~How can you keep it in good shape to last many lifetimes?

Keeping the home calm with natural materials and colours helps our family keep a healthy balance, while organizing things, like laundry, for easy routines.

Gathering fresh food feels even better in a sweet little basket at the shops and in the garden.  Little Dear Ones sneak off with the basket and fill with toys.  Now, it’s a bed or house for a little bear.  Natural materials inspire shopping for fresh, organic food with no packaging.  Bring everything home in your basket and place on the table, ready to enjoy!  Maybe a flower will hop into your basket, ready to plant in the garden?  Special stones, shells, or leaves.  Basket handles feel good to hold.  The senses need Nature.  Sweet and humble, a basket inspires me so.  For more A Gentle Life Collections, news & sales, and healthy lifestyle inspiration, please subscribe at the bottom of this page.

Yes, there is a thing as too many baskets, so choose mindfully with the above tips and your beautiful lifestyle in mind.  Store baskets simply to avoid collecting dust/allergies.  Vinegar-water is an easy way to keep baskets clean.

Favourite Tools Part 1

Amor Milagre Favorite Tools 1 art studio atelier office kitchen homeschooling workshop family organic vegan Art & Design amormilagre.com

Tools are everywhere.  From your hands, feet, mind, heart, soul, expressions, and body to your hat, spoons, musical instruments, food, sun, moon, and pencils, everything is a tool to help us inspire positivity.  Every room in our home stores our favourite tools.  In the kitchen, a wooden spoon is always there, ready to use.  Screwdrivers and hammers dot the basement as we finish a room.  Paint brushes dry out by the sink, while lamps await our touch so they can shine their light for us.  Notebooks excitedly lay and turn pages for new stories and friends to be invented.  Hats shade our eyes, as we walk in the deer tracks in the snow, meditating in nature.  What are your favourite tools?

Amor Milagre Favorite Tools 1 art studio atelier office kitchen homeschooling workshop family organic vegan Art & Design amormilagre.com

In the kitchen:  the wooden spoon, a sharp knife, fresh food, and a favourite pot.  When you have favourites, you don’t need anything else.  Everything in our home is our favourite.  Minimal belongings help us to be organized, uncluttered, and serene.  Old things are mended or sold, donated, or given as a gift to someone who sees it as their favourite.

Gravity is a great tool when paired with some great techniques.  A twist in the hand, and you have fresh, ripe fruit.  Wild ones eat fallen fruit, seeds, nuts, and plants.  The wind spreads seeds everywhere as a wonderful transportation system/ride.  Nature works together, and we try to have the things in our home work together with us, respecting nature.  We make as much as we can by hand.  This has been a goal of mine since birth.  I always wanted to learn how to make everything.

Babies learn to use natural tools such as their voice, energy, and body.  If we teach them gently, they will live, think, and love gently, too.
