New Short Film: Borrowing Names at the Graveyard for New Loving Book Characters

I am loving all of my new stories this summer, and I will release them this winter.

Names, names, everywhere…

A Little Note:

Our sweet family has been able to wander a bit now that our Rose Cottage renovations have ceased the apron tugging.  We go out for a stroll after dinner late August, gleaning old lovely names, once prettily new, for our stories.  I’m writing more about the beauty and calm of the separated lives of nocturnals this week.  I’m nocturnal, fully allowed to recall this fact now, but haven’t been allowed or able to be.  It’s not easy, and being highly sensitive doesn’t help with the sound and light and energy of the human day’s pollutions.  People who are like me actually need a lot more sleep to constantly heal.   As a baby, I couldn’t sleep enough.  I loved sleeping, if it let me, and pajamas and soft jumpers are my preferred uniform.  The less sleep you get, the harder it is to grow the hours of repair.  Sleep deficits are cruel things.  Think gently to ease back.  It’s a trauma that requires healing.  Pregnancy/the newborn decade is an impossible time for parental sleeping.  It was for us.  My first two decades of school schedules also crushed me.  I can breathe and think when most of you are sleeping, all too well so that art and books flood out of me.  Natural rhythms prevent unnecessary illness.  I also work all day, teach homeschool, and manage the house.

So, if your child is chronically sick, consider that they could be naturally nocturnal and this is not a ‘fixable’ thing.  It is them.  It’s their life cycle.  Research it to help.  In this non-societal tech age, it’s easier to function nocturnally when brick-and-mortar businesses close as they awaken.  Allow people to be themselves.  Moon, not direct Sun.  Morning-Evening, not Noon.  Calm, not Chaos.  There is some overlap to see the day-timers.  Homeschool is helpful for so many people, for all mind speeds, especially for the quick and efficient.  My whole self wishes I could have had the life my little natural day-walkers have now, but I would have learned by lamplight.  We learn everything.  It’s all interesting.

Let us all live on our natural vibrations, planes, and clocks.  I wonder if I’ll ever be able to live on my own clock.  For now, please be patient.  I’m a master juggler, running on love.  Your orders do go out quickly as usual.  Endless books are growing every day, and I try to keep up.  Paintings dry on the desk.  I answer to no one, except my sweet family who takes precedence.   I designed it to be so.  It’s necessary.   I have to be quick because I am swamped.  Imagine if not?  I work all of the time.  New collections are releasing more now, though I am averse to screens and buzzing computers so progress on that side is patchy time-wise and causes migraines etc.  I wear dark glasses and hats outside.  We tote umbrellas.  We don’t go out in the middle of the day.  Bats are people too.  Owls and mice, and all that’s nice.  We peaceful souls need rest, so be gentle and quiet in your days, for we are attempting to rest then.  Nightmares attempt to conquer me.  I battle them, re-explaining what they could do instead to communicate more respectfully.  And if you’d all calm down, it’d be so much easier to rest, but empaths feel all and there is a lot going on.  Ban all the pollutions, near houses and far.   Clouds go everywhere.  Remember, you’re  ‘here’ temporarily.

*Make a safe feeling to leave in your name.*

Because I was suddenly paused two decades ago (by unnecessary cruel pain/stress/etc) on all of the projects that I had planned to do with other people, I’m sorting through those now and choosing a few to reconjure.  Since then, I’ve only done solitary books, art, design, and unique projects when I’ve been able to and had time.  I work best on my own, quickly as our life is so full to the minute, but some of these ideas were so special I’d like to finish them before we all age too much more.  Many of the people have passed, but there are still many of us left to celebrate how creativity frees us all from emotional boundaries and connects us all together in that way.

So, sweet dreams and respectful day-timing.  Love to the sensitives, nocturnals, and insomniacs.  Calm days allow for calm nights, whichever way you’re waking.  Love, this sleepless Leopard, ~Amor Milagre

April: Old-Fashioned Loves

Vegan Apple Pie by Amor Milagre, sugar-free desserts
Vegan Apple Pie by Amor Milagre

There are many ways to enjoy the little moments of each day.  Baking a special treat, such as this apple pie, can be shared piece by piece all week in the evenings.  Reading a longer bedtime story, bit by bit each night, is a fun way to connect not only to the reader and the laugher, but to a healthy tradition of togetherness and dependability.  Getting back to private fun phone calls that only two friends can hear is bliss, unless there is someone listening in then you have to play a few jokes on the eavesdropper.  “Gotcha!”  Remember doing things you actually like to do, things just for you.  This is life.  This is living.  These little moments feel natural and good.  They’re real.  And, then you’ll remember that you are real, too!  Unplug, mill around the house, browse a bookshelf, sit in the fresh air, go for a stroll, and draw out something pleasant for you to breathe into.

If you won’t get your lovely eyes offline just yet, you can watch some new SHORTS on my video channel about favourite homeschool books and our April garden blooms and evergreens.  These are some unplugged ideas of how to enjoy your days with self-education and nature-loving gardening.  The nurseries are opening now.  Go out and explore that lovely greenhouse air.  Happy Spring!  Love, ~Amor Milagre

Amor Milagre Spring Cleaning, Art, & Post-Renovation Touches

A little rearranging and tidying of the home opens the soul up for happy new adventures and airy possibilities.

We moved the fluffy white rug out of our newly renovated library-atelier-homeschool room and let our new cosy brown cacao floor shine.  The sofa was set up under the ‘Of Earth & Air’ triptych flanked by the new end tables and lamps for easy reading in the mornings and afternoons.  A bookshelf tidy-up allows for easy access to our favourite stories and school lesson books.  The new keyboard awaits little fingers in sunlight, ready to turn the page to new songs.  Our handmade table, used for printers last year, is now our new lesson area which is good for posture, backlit by the sun.  Yoga and gentle ballet take the floor.  Spring stretches into the freshly made kitchen pantry room with a new tapestry, records to sing along with, and baskets of shallots and garlic to keep us well as the wind decides its course.  Fresh snow falls for us to play in, and we savour this quiet still with smiling nervous systems.  Glorious seed packets sit in a wooden box by the mudroom door, awaiting their nutritious earth.

This spring, I am channeling Vianne Rocher (Chocolat) and Aunt Lucy (Cobble Street Cousins) as we begin a little local child-parent club to practice poetry, art, and nature.  We are all fresh in sage green checks and dusty periwinkle embroidery dresses with white petticoat hems.  I paint up Sage Rose Sorrel garden scenes in watercolour washes for Sage’s special children’s treasury.  We exchange tartan and sparkling silver ribbons on the outdoor sconces for cornflower blue and cream.

Coming up soon are some freshly illustrated book character card-prints, late winter owl wax seal stamp stickers, and early spring artwork.  Once we can sit en plein air at the beaches, new oil paintings will release in my shop.

We wish you a lovely spring, full of positive energy.  Love, ~Amor Milagre

I am working on some new oils to go in this atelier room as these paintings are for sale in my shop.  This is a revolving art gallery.  New work is displayed each month.  Shop these large scale pieces, as well as smaller ones for any sized space.  The triptych tells a story, but it may be split up.  Isn’t it fun to know you can own a piece of a story?  I like the idea of collectors tracking them all down like puzzle pieces.  New artwork is coming up!

Spring 2026 ‘Rhythm’ Mood Board

Amor Milagre Spring 2026 Mood Board 'Rhythm'

This spring is all about appreciating, and keeping, natural rhythms.  I make new boards before the season changes to help us focus on the transition and the daily mood.  Of course, spring cleaning and finishing furniture/home renovation projects are on the menu.  Other goals may be more specific like planting a certain flower seed to grow amongst our handmade stone walls or painting blue thawing beachscapes.  Mostly, the continuance of natural, quiet, sweet, loving moments is the theme.  A gentle reminder for softness, blooms, strolls, fresh air, and inherent bliss ties together the mood here for our rejuvenating springtime.  We’re feeling especially nostalgic now.  We celebrate what we have and mend any loose buttons.  Spring is a time for positive changes, and our world can benefit from healthy options going forward.  This is the moment to live.  I’m focusing on illustrating many of my peaceful novels and children’s books this season.  New art print stationery cards for these watercolours are coming soon.  We savour the winter still, growing peace, and we’ll use the energy of this board to keep the calming rhythms going throughout the rest of the busier seasons.  Unwinding is healing.

Grow goodness every day.  Love, ~ Amor Milagre
