Amor Milagre Atelier Library Interior Design Renovation

Our Rose Cottage library renovation is finished!  We will add some little jewels on this shimmering wall over time.  A home evolves as you live in it.  This newly renovated look will age gracefully as we do.  I will resume painting illustrations and typing up my new books to share with you soon.  This large library is also our homeschool room.  We’ll share more about our custom bookcase designs this season.  We are loving the magic of this garden-inspired space.  Put on a record and dance!  All ready to snuggle up and dream away into beautiful story lands and stretch out with peaceful yoga poses.

The before/after reveals will be posted over the winter.  Our kitchen designs are coming up next.

Happy weekend!  Love, ~Amor Milagre

Designer Tips:  Match your primer to the overall wallpaper colour so it looks seamless.  Use FSC Certified, non-toxic, unscented materials and glues.  This flooring is sustainably and responsibly sourced and made.  When using green materials, your home is healthier for the short and long of it…for you and the earth.  We are all about being healthy and cosy, so if furniture only looks good it will not be a good choice.  Style, comfort, and sustainability matters.  Go for all three!

Amor Milagre Interior Design and Romantic Sitting Room Renovation

Our Rose Cottage sitting room and library renovations are finishing up.  As my atelier is now all set up again, all orders will ship quickly as usual.  I’ll be painting up new seasonal artwork for our home, and the art prints and stationery for these paintings will be in my shop once finished.  We’re loving our rooms and happy to have the new FSC Certified flooring throughout the house as it decreases dust and allergies.  It also looks beautiful and is wonderful for dancing.  More is coming up.  We wish you a lovely Autumn!

New stationery sets will release this September.

The before/after design reveals for our room renovations from the past four years will be posted here over the winter.  The house really feels like ours now.  Soon, there will be some new reindeer, roses, and landscapes on these plum walls.

Evening Kitchen Dancing

Evening Kitchen Dancing, Custom Interior Design by Amor Milagre
Evening Kitchen Dancing, Custom Interior Design by Amor Milagre.  After/during the dance:  licorice tea.

Do you dance?

I love dancing, playing piano and guitar, and singing…and after you haven’t had them near in ages, it’s all the more beautiful.  Even without the floor and keys, even without a voice, the mind can play any time or place.  Use the air.  Imagine it.  Nothing planned, no steps or sheets to follow, just play.  Hear the notes?  Feel the movement?  Ramble along, wander, get lost in the senses of them entangling together…

Never pointe…but a safe balance of ballet and yoga…just dance barefoot.  Our new cosy mats and runner rug all layered up feel cushioned and healthy for plies, cat/cows, and cooking/dishes, too.  Stretch….and feel better…feel the vibration of the piano and violin strings…so alive…

Now that we have finished our new kitchen, I continue my evenings of dancing there, with a farmhouse sink ledge for a barre, moving towards the soft notes and crickets.

I found some soothing piano by Joep Beving to add to my favourites.  Hope you enjoy it, too!

Stretch, breathe, slowly strengthen, and feel…lovely.  ~Amor Milagre

Café Amor Milagre: Sensitive Kitchen & Recipe Design

Cafe Amor Milagre Writing Spot Organic Vegan Cooking & Kitchen Interior Design Renovation
Cafe Amor Milagre Writing Spot Organic Vegan Cooking & Kitchen Interior Design Renovation

A story as delicious as a good dinner…  In my original plans for my company, I designed Café Amor Milagre.  The idea is a plant-based, vegan, organic, European peasant-style, garden-fresh café to accompany my shop.  As my store is online, my upcoming cookbooks will teach how to bring our kitchen to yours with simply delicious recipes.  We adore this custom home café that we have nearly finished building at our Rose Cottage.  I’ll keep my original company plans, perhaps to open up later on down the road.  The world can really use more of this type of dining.  We never eat out, so we made our own restaurant at home, growing plants in the garden for our daily food.

I love to lounge by our grand new windows that look onto the morning’s dewy flowers and herbs, write a new story, share a funny teatime with my family, and dream in the evening sconce lamplight.  Simple peaceful pleasures build up a beautiful life…and story.  I’ve written so many books this summer, and every day there are three more.  Now, I just have to catch up on printing them all so you can enjoy them, too!  I’m out of ink and journals, and my poor hand needs a break.  But then, oh!

I will publish more treasury compilation-style books going forward as printing costs are high.  My shop uses sustainable materials, which do cost more for me, but the preservation of nature is vital.  In general, the cost of everything now is quite high.  I design my products to be as affordable as possible.  I don’t believe that high prices elevate works of art.  I believe in equality.  In making affordable collections, everyone is invited.  With treasury books, my readers can enjoy many stories within one book.  Quick, connected readers will really appreciate this type of book.  Reread these new classics over again.  This will be the new format for some of the children’s book collections and the Self-Health Novelettes.  I do have some books that I’ll release on their own as they have specific illustration designs that need a certain book shape or size.  Some novels, like The Love Letter Diaries, already contain four seasonal books within one volume.  I will keep that style for the second year/volume of that series.

As our renovations wind down, I will release many new artwork and stationery pieces and collections.  If only the computers could keep up with my brain, I’d be all caught up.  That is my process though…true thought and handmade creative works, inspired by nature.  Cherish the real, the natural, yourself.

Children’s meals are easy to assemble and beautiful with whole foods, such as these nuts.  I love how the walnuts look like owls.  The senses relish in the shapes, scents, textures, flavours, and colours of natural plant foods.  Let children design their own lunch and flavour combinations.  Little chefs always come up with something we haven’t tried yet!

Design Tip for A Calming Space:  If you group ‘like’ items, or items that you use together, on a tray then the visual clutter goes away and you have a sensually pleasing atmosphere.  Store unneeded items out of sight.  Have a focal point, and let it be useful.  Try it in any room.  Do you feel more relaxed?

What is a soup?  Easy.  Add fresh vegetables to a pot, add some spices, add water.  Cook.  Enjoy!  (My cookbooks include a few more details, but try it!)  Last evening, I wrote a story near a simmering tomato fennel soup.  Our custom kitchen design was intended for just this moment.  For this one, I will puree it.  For our regular weekly recipe, we don’t.  These simply nourishing soups are versatile and help sustain your week.  Delicious recipes, such as these, are featured in my upcoming vegan, organic, sugar-free cookbook.  Enjoy soup every day of the year to boost health and relax, knowing that you always have a good dinner waiting for you!

Tomato Fennel Soup Amor Milagre Organic Vegan Cooking & Kitchen Interior Design Renovation
Tomato Fennel Soup Amor Milagre Organic Vegan Cooking & Kitchen Interior Design Renovation.  A New Kitchen-Warming Gift from my husband!  This pot has locking safety handles and a strainer lid option.  It’s just the right size for most of our recipes, but it uses more storage space with the handles.  Overall it’s a great green design, but next time remove the click handle sound.  We understand how to use it.  Cooking designs can be made much quieter.

I love gentle rain showers and slow cooks.  If a recipe is going to take a while, it can do it on its own.  We’re quite busy, so minimal steps and a house filled with a gorgeous subtle scent is my design.  The buzzing machines that I do not love do not live in our kitchen.  They live on the other side of the door, in the pantry.  We also made sure to research the quietest ones.  The pantry, mudroom, and a full bath/laundry room are our next renovation projects to finish this fall/winter.  Yes, every inch of the house and gardens…  Sensitive design considers your whole health and how the senses work.  I design to keep and boost energy, not zap it away.  Even our clocks don’t tick, and why should they?  Check back to see how we have done this to our entire Rose Cottage.

I’m happy that we are finishing up our last rooms.  We deserve a break to watch the flowers grow and have little dates in our cosy café.  Last night, we had a half-date half-measuring party.  Just us two…and I do love it when my husband says…”I have a design question for you.”  Get out the pencil and paper…let’s figure it out.  Can you tell that we like a bit of a puzzle?

If your children need something to do this weekend, consider a little scavenger hunt with clues on notepaper leading to a surprise..or even just to breakfast!  Our family loves to do things like this.  The mind loves to learn and be useful.  Recipes are a versatile way to keep your senses moving.  Growing and preparing organic food is a wonderful puzzle to practice.

Love, ~ Amor Milagre

Kitchen Design & Simple Pleasures

Amor Milagre Custom Kitchen Interior Design, New Stove Hood with Lavender Trug and Soft Sconce Lighting

August brings a new kitchen.  What a lovely gift!  We are fiddle-faddling with our favourite pancake flippers and arranging precious teacups in custom-fit drawers, newly handmade by my talented husband.  We measured everything and designed special areas for each collection of kitchen items.  The flow is important to get right.  Ergonomics are vital to prevent pain.  How splendid to unpack decades of patience into a beautiful, clean space!  Everything has a home, and we can easily use everything now.  This room used to be two, with walls missing and old floors, and the upcoming design reveals will show how much work it took to bring this calming, soft kitchen to life.  Our Rose Cottage feels healthier every day.

Three Romantic Things

Amor Milagre Romantic Interior Design & Healthy Lifestyle
Amor Milagre Romantic Interior Design & Healthy Lifestyle

A cooler week reminds me of my favourites:  cosy sweaters, blankets, sitting with the garden, and the little romantic things we love.  Here are three ideas to try:

  1. Lasting Impression:  When we were first dating, I gave my husband a little card with a unique pink lipstick kiss on it as a valentine.  He has kept the card in his wallet ever since…it’s been about a decade.  (My Kiss stationery is based on that valentine.)
  2. Kind Gestures:  Last night, I looked out of the window and saw my husband with a handful of weeds on his way to the compost area of the garden.  Clearing a pathway, doing laundry or dishes, and little helpful things are very sweet gestures that show you care.  Giving your beloved the gift of some down time is wonderful!
  3. Little Offerings:  Hugs, massages, gentle touches, a delicious lunch, a cup of favourite tea, and loving words are simple, yet impactful, ways to say ‘I adore you.’  We also write out love notes on the bottom of market shopping lists, on corners of the To Do chalkboard, and on my  Ethereal Romance Notecards.  It is lovely to find an ‘I love you’ at the breakfast table.

Home & Garden: Rainy Design Day

Amor Milagre Custom Kitchen Design
Amor Milagre Custom Kitchen Design

Designing the garden to be as soft, natural, and perennial as the interior is something that I love to do.  Outside, we have organic vegetable gardens, cottage flower mazes, and wildflower meadow borders.  It’s as easy as painting with plants.  Choose your colours, textures, seasons, and heights.  Replace lawns with perennial flowering plants.  Creeping thyme is a favourite bridge for plant gaps, and the pollinators love their dusty lilac flowers as much as we love to use it for cooking.  Plant your desired seeds and enjoy all of their stages.  Inside, cosy up by the window on a rainy day and sketch the blooms of the week.  Go out for a dewdrop stroll to explore watery worlds.  Arrange your teacups and dishes on wide heavy cream shelves, and lay down charcoal cacao floors to connect the inside to the garden.  Your flowers and curtains can reflect similar colours and patterns.  This encourages humanity to feel more a part of nature.  By connecting indoor and outdoor spaces with sensitive design, one finds themselves going out more naturally to benefit from the air, blooms, and roots.  Fawns love to wander in the meadows, too.

Meditate inclusivity, harmony, and peace.  Love, ~Amor Milagre

Art Copyright & AI Awareness: Don’t Wait 200 Years…

No Theft

In a digital world that has become an endless junk drawer, full of pirating thieves, it’s important to be aware that any true creative expression is a rare gem.  These rarities are to be respected and only associated with the origin maker.

Our homeschool art history lessons are filled with sad struggles of unique artists.  The artists were too often stomped on by the masses of uncreatives who didn’t have the artist’s refreshing viewpoint.  It takes the humans too long to appreciate us, the true artists of the world.  Do not wait 200 years to read my books and consider them to be a valuable inspiration for your daily lives, your peace, and your soul.  You harm most of us when we’re alive, reduce us to poverty, disrespect our high intelligence and skill, and often worse.  How many artists have had to scrape by, trying to live off of their pen, brush, and voice?  How many terrible people have made wealth off of creatives, only to leave them with a tiny fraction of their earnings, if any?  How many have stolen their ideas in the hopes of fame for themselves?  This constant violation of revolutionary thinkers and feelers needs to stop.  Real laws need to be put into place and enforced for copyright infringement.  All platforms must abide by rules that protect the originals.  Piracy of all types has been an age old terror, has increased in modern digital forms, and must be stopped.  It is only getting worse since AI and the delusional idea that everyone is famous from social media.  Fame is not real or meaningful.  Honesty, authenticity, integrity, original thought, and hard work are meaningful.  What you ingest means something.  Would you rather garbage or fresh air?  Would you rather a subpar fake or the real miracle?  Would you rather leave feeling sick or inspired to do something wonderful in your own way for your own life?  People get confused when they feel a connection.  They think that they must own it, control it, and take it over.  Why?  How?  Just smile and say thank you.  If you admire someone’s work, donate money to them so that they can make more little miracles to share with the world.

The content thieves are insulting and criminal.  Their theft is a violation of our original thoughts and expressions because what we do is made of us.  You cannot copy-paste a soul.  You cannot steal our minds, emotions, and the culmination of every second of our lives.  You have no right to a creative’s work.  You are the observer.  You may listen and dance to our songs, admire our art in your home or in galleries, and be inspired to do good things from my peaceful stories.  You may not select all, copy, paste, change a word, and sell under some other name.  Piracy is a crime.  It is illegal.  Plagiarism and content theft are crimes.  Copyright infringement is real.  You are not allowed to make quick money off of other people’s work.

The theft of old stories sickens me too, especially because the modern humans haven’t learned more than those of past centuries.  They have frozen themselves in the pain inflicted by every generation of humans.  New stories are just old ones, stuck in anti-feminist times, mash-ups or verbatim, regurgitating unhealthy formulas that set the rule for all of the modern movies, music, and books today.  My work breaks free of that formula and my ideas are my own.  If you knew my story, you’d know that there are no influences.  My ideas are mine.

It saddens me deeply to see old artwork being auctioned off for millions when, at the time it was made, no one would buy it for even a small amount, reducing the artist to suffering, illness, and pain.  Many of my past lives speak to me about this very often.  Artists, in general, are already living on the outside of society, though we are mirrors of its beating heart, shedding light and positive possibilities for the future.  Our sensitive awareness is a gift for the world.  Will they listen?  Not likely.  We’re only sometimes acknowledged and guessed at centuries later, made ‘brilliant’ or ‘genius’ by people who know nothing about us or our work.  Inaccurate tags in museums are studied by students and tourists, and mugs with iconic imagery are sipped on at breakfast time all around the world, yet…you are missing it all.  You’re missing us, right here, ready to be heard.  We can explain it while we’re alive.  We can make a truly positive difference now.  You can only guess at us later, IF our work survives your insane wars and ruin.  Then, it’s too late.

It feels impossible to be seen, or believed, in this time of incessant chaotic noise.  Sure, a few of you may brag to strangers in line of an artist acquaintance when you spot something artistic that you think you should like.  That is not what art is about.  What speaks to your soul?  What moves you?  Everyone needs to adapt a new attitude toward real artists.  We’re not quaint things to send a quick fawning over.  We’re not pets to make demands to.  We’re serious about our work.  We sense everything and convey it all, in the hope that our awareness of reality will spread and make waves to help.  We are not here for you to steal from, nor to suck the patterns from for your AI projects.  I DO NOT give my permission to anyone to steal my work for any reason.  See the disclaimer.  This work is our life.  Our family stories, our struggles, our love, and our ideas are only ours.  There are enough human problems, we don’t need fake humans causing trouble and confusion.  Now, do we have to teach children to not believe that anything online is real?  What are they working towards?  What has meaning?  How can one trust anything?  Who is real, what really happened, and who really said what?  Proof is already difficult to find without throwing more deceit and lies into it.  People already have trouble communicating and having healthy real relationships.  I fear for the future generations.  AI is a very bad idea, and it’s even worse at the wrong person’s command or misdirection to override safety boundaries.  The layers of lies will expand out of control spiraling into tragic consequences.  How do you pull the plug?  Do it now.  Prevent what it will cause.  Humans are not responsible, sensible, aware, or smart enough to use something like AI.

AI is a backwards step.  Humans cannot be trusted with AI.  The humans have failed to thrive together so they push further away from what they don’t understand…how to be a good human.  It’s truly sad.  AI may funnel and predict patterns, but it has no soul and therefore no true reasoning or empathy.  This fake world that is trying to engulf us is nonsense.  It has no meaning, and yet it’s dangerous.  For many, it is another wall to hide behind.  This world order change effects development and mental health.  No privacy.  No control.  No human interaction.  No jobs without AI?  I’m not interested in AI at all.  Political and religious change will challenge systems, possibly forming strange new groups.  Illness and self-destructive behaviour can spread quickly.  Laziness, a dulling/numbing of awareness and the senses, and a warped sense of reality is inevitable.  New dangers emerge.  How will AI, and the humans involved, be held accountable for crime?  How will it all be traced back?  Where is nature in this?  Real human teachers are more impactful than computers.  The memory works better by hand and unplugged.

Are humans ready for unknown connections, revelations, or obvious things to be presented?  Who could even translate such intricate combinations of information?  You cannot trust AI.  How will anyone know if these ideas are true?  Not that long ago, humans thought the world was flat.  If humans cannot understand new ideas, how will they choose which ideas to test and accept?  Ancient languages and codes are much sought after for universal answers.  There is a lot of misinformation being produced and designed to confuse.  Who will be able to decipher the difference?  What kind of webs will be woven?  Who pulls and twists the strings?  AI is capable to be an endless weapon.  Weapons that make weapons?  How is this allowed?  AI’s collected information may be helpful to doctors for diagnosing illnesses when medical systems have failed, but what are the dangers?  What if it is wrong, tricked, or tainted?  What if it causes illnesses and deaths?  On what scale?  How will the mistakes of AI negatively effect the group and the individual?  This is scary and unpredictable.  Think about this in terms of countries.  The world health and war situations are already out of control.  What is the bias?  How will it evolve or be stolen and tampered with?  Who is directing the ship?  Where are they directing it?  How great and widespread are the damages?  Does anyone have a choice in giving permission of their personal information being used?  We do not give our permission.

The world understanding will not continue to evolve naturally, and there are serious disconnections and comprehension gaps.  A recent temporary ban in Maine for AI apps is a start.  There are too many unknowns and the capabilities are immeasurably dangerous.  Sadly, once a technology is out there, people will find a way to use it, to get around boundaries, and catastrophes are inevitable.  Why don’t the villains use their time and energy to do something else, something neutral or positive?  It takes so much to be so terrible.  The anxiety that thieves must feel cannot be at all worth it.  They have chosen to be unreal to themselves.  It’s easier and better to be a peaceful, good person.  Why are we not able to vote against AI?  Frustrated, mentally unstable men have been destroying our world for ages.  This must stop.  Have you asked the children of the world what they think?  It is their world.  When asked, they scoff and laugh, “NO!”  They have much to say about this.  They do not approve.  Any sane person would not agree with AI.

*True empathy is the answer.  Nature and love.  It’s not complicated.  Peaceful energy is the key.  No computer can achieve peace.  It is our responsibility as individuals and as a group to be peace.

This is one reason why we plant wild gardens.  Nature is as real as it gets in this human experience.  Immerse yourself in plants, real ones.  Learn what being human is all about.  It’s not control.  We are a small piece of the puzzle and to destroy this world is simply nonsensical.  Why would you?  There is no benefit to harming.

Any creative who allows others to view their work is brave.  Respect us.  Pay us for our work. Find your own fulfillment.  You cannot steal authenticity.  Your stolen income means nothing.  Money is not really real.  It’s not worth destroying someone over.  Nothing is.  Stop yourself before you even think of stealing.  It waters down our work to nothing.  You are taking food away from our family.  Your products contribute nothing.  And, if you were inspired by another thief to pass work off as your own, well…I can’t even…why?  You can do something else.  Have some self respect.  This is disgusting and prevalent.  Prevention is needed.  Book sellers need to crack down on this hard.  Zero tolerance.  According to my research, Amazon is the worst at preventing and stopping plagiarism.  They also don’t seem to be good at holding thieves accountable.  Many sources cite that they’re just all about quick money.  Our experience with them is similar.  Businesses need to be respectful, trustworthy, and transparent.

These issues are a part of why I don’t sell ebooks.  This is why I’ve waited decades to release my books.  I am still not comfortable doing it, especially now in this time of digital chaos.  I have hundreds of books, and all of them are original stories written and inspired solely by my authentic life.  I make endless artwork.  Holding a book in your hands and feeling the edges of a painting are specific sensations.  Screens do no such thing for a person, and they are bad for your brain.  Can you feel the energy of the artist?  You have to buy the books from me.  I ship my art directly to you with notes of thanks.  You sense me there.  Hopefully, some part of humanity and respect gets through with each order.

Respect for artists of all kinds has always been lacking.  It’s not easy.  It is the hardest job to make something out of nothing.  We’re magical in that way.  Is this why thieves steal?  Out of envy?  Do they really wish they had this ‘easy’ wealth of ideas keeping them up at night, pestering them when they do the dishes, and interrupting their thoughts with new sounds and dialogue?  They don’t know what it’s even like to be ‘inspired’.  It’s a different kind of life.  My husband watches me in this realm that I struggle to exist in.  It’s not like the life of the audience.  I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.  Artists are so because we have to be.  We were born like this.  It is our soul, every lifetime.  It comes to us.  It is us.  I am never bored, but I am always exhausted.  Being an empath, with this world, is exhausting.  Illness ensues.  Artists generally struggle, and for someone to come and pick up and sell our unique bag of miracles, after we’ve made it, carried it, and tried to sell it ourselves, is a crime.  I have never ending ideas, and all of them are mine.  This plethora of work doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t miss one.  You cannot sneak in and take even one.  Each of of my original ideas is connected and builds to form another.  To steal one work is to steal them all, and any theft is a crime.  I had intended to help the world with my work, but my ideas must be respected.  You’d miss artists if they all hid themselves.  It would be a less colourful life.  Maybe it would be good for the fact that everyone would be less distracted and have to get to know themselves?  No shows to watch.  No music.  No plays.  No bedtime stories.  No beautiful homes and gardens.  Nothing.  Would you like that bland world?  Many artists have already gone on strike.

Thieves:   Turn around.  Go the other way.  You are like suffocating vine weeds that impersonate and eclipse beautiful trees.  Vines end up in vine jail.  Do you want that?  Fines and jail time?  Clean up your mess, learn, be a student, take a class, stock the shelves, provide basics for others, go to therapy, and pay for movies and books.  Figure out your own ideas.  Examine your own story and emotions.  There are endless jobs for you to make an honest living.  Don’t be greedy.  Be a minimalist.  Artists have to invent a space in the universe after inventing their inventions.  It’s nearly impossible.  I’m worn out.  Then, for you to come in, after we barely survive our own stories, and call our life….yours!??!?!?!?!  Insane. This is insane.  You didn’t write the book.  You didn’t paint the canvas.  What is the song about?  How did you come to that melody or colour combination?  You didn’t.  It had nothing to do with you.  We don’t know you, and obviously you don’t know yourself.  Thieves are lost.  If you want to inflict pain, punch a pillow.  Leave artists to their rights.  We have zero time to fight with you, nor do we want to.  We have endless lists to do.  We’re busy.  Now, you need to find something peaceful you can do, on your own, away from us.

The world’s forum has never made enough room for true artists.  Why do you only chase money?  It means nothing to your soul.  If you do not want to be only stuck with screensavers of chopped up digital versions of struggled-for water lilies, smirking Lisa’s, and bright tomato soup cans, then stop stealing.  You’ll be starving for new art.  We’ll have to keep it all to ourselves.  Original art is rare.  When is the last time you saw an original piece of art in someone’s home?  In someone’s home who didn’t have a lot of money?  Unless they are an artist, it’s rare.  Prints are prevalent and mostly mass produced junk, masquerading as art, dots coffee tables while off-gassing plastic pollution.  Corporate offices keep their one or two artist(s) in a cubicle somewhere in the airless sea of grey.  Those people faintly wish each day that their ideas will be used.  Design jobs are not even that.  It’s frustrating to not be able to do what your job title states.  After some fake enthusiasm and the trickle down/up the ladder occurs, they hear back that something new would cost too much.  No one would know how to make it anyways as they only reproduce the same poor initial items every season.  Why even hire them?  They love to boast of their in-house-artist as if they were displaying creatives in a zoo of rare talents.  Artists are some of the first to lay off during a cut.  Their talents are not being appreciated, or put to use, so they easily put them down.  Disgusting ignorance!  They didn’t even give them a chance to improve the company.  Art is not fluff.  The three managers of nothing are fluff.  The coffee-iphone obsessors, who stand around all day, are fluff.  People love the romantic idea of artists, but they don’t even know us or what we do.  People need to learn about art, artists, and art history.  Respect artists, our process, and our work.  If you don’t think that art is everywhere, wake up.  Art is everywhere.

I’ve had issues with idea thieves since I was young, and sadly I’ve had to hide my work.  I sit here, next to piles of unheard art, wishing their intent could be fulfilled.  I have only recently started to show the work I’ve been producing for the past few decades.  I’ve designed my work to benefit human and natural life.  Sadly, my infinite heart has begun to give up hope that anyone older than a child could be in their senses enough to absorb peace.  What these older generations have done to this world is tragic.  Peace is possible.  Let us be us, and you be you.  Not everyone can be the comedian.  Would you even want to be?  You can be happy just to laugh.  Believe me, being the laugher is much easier than the struggle of endless puzzles an artist navigates to solve each day.

Let us enjoy being us.  It’s already too much to have to run it all on the digital/business side after making the creative work.  Our brains are split.  Now, I do this…  Screens blast eyes.  I’d rather just focus on my journal and canvas.  There is nothing weak or unimpressive about artists.  We do it all.  We’d like to enjoy our own art and sense the magic that our work spreads as it travels the world.  Artists already don’t get paid what we deserve for our contributions to the world.  This needs to change.  At the very least, respect us and give us the pleasure of the feeling that our work makes a positive difference.  We also have the right to the time while we invent, and afterwards, when we release something.  It belongs to us.  Original work will always belong to the original artist.  I don’t seek external praise, but I do expect to be paid for my work and to have my rights protected.  We have a family to support and a company to grow.  My family will continue my company while adding their own unique collections.  We’re not going anywhere.  We protect my life’s work which is valuable to us and for the world.  My purpose is a calling to send out loving messages.  If you read my books, you will understand.  There are no other words in which they could be written.  They are my messages for the world.

Creatives and noncreatives can work well together.  A dreamer and the dream builder/supporter.  One has the idea, and the other readies the stage.  My husband and I are such a team, and we get along very well.  I design the house, and he builds it beautifully to last.  By the way, there is creativity in the functional.  Problem solving is very creative.  How can you think in a different way?

*Respect the rights of artists.  Put an end to publishing plagiarism.  Hire educated people to sniff out copycats.  Enforce copyright laws.  Stop AI from copying art, artist techniques, real people, and attempting to steal the soul because it will always fail.  There has already been a shortage for exciting original art in past decades.  What is our current culture even made of?  War and pollution.  It’s no wonder the unicorns hide.

*Remember, if you are in the audience:  Laugh, relax, and be happy…while you wait to enjoy observing our next invention.  ~ Amor Milagre

Oh, and take those guitars out of the vaults…  The previous owner would’ve been playing them, and making up new songs…probably about the silliness of humans.

Cottage Garden Flowers: June in Bloom

This is the week of the foxglove, buttercup, peony, iris, pollinator-loving wildflowers, lavender, and the first rose bloom.  The soft, pillowy petals are beloved by all wildlife.  It rains, bathing fuzzy stems in shining dew.  We visit each bloom as it unfurls.  The flowers are helped by glistening insect friends and greet the clouded sun,  “Good morning!”  This is an especially magical time to study and write about the poetry of nature… and of the self.  Our lessons are taken into the garden with a cup of tea and an umbrella.

Sense all around your lovely being.  How do you feel?  What kind of messages are whispering to you?

With each season, our garden renovation design grows in fuller than the last.  We replaced lawns with perennial flowers and edible organic plant foods.  We made fun pathways to explore under arches of towering stems and sweet blooms.  The low buzzing hum increases, and new winged friends stay a while.

Scatter seeds and wait for your gorgeous surprise!  Life awaits…

Synesthesia: Painting & Music

Atelier Amor Milagre Oil Painting Studio
Atelier Amor Milagre Oil Painting Studio, 2nd layer on Part I of the Library Triptych (Painting In Progress) Non-toxic Paints and FSC Certified Supplies.

Painting and music…my cloud of peace…

Synesthesia often feels painful due to our polluted world.  When there is a rare, open, quiet moment I can add some low music to the air and paint the sound energy.  This is a truly beautiful release of expression!  Let go….. and smile…

The homeschool portfolio has been sent in.  The kitchen renovation is wrapping up.  This coming year allows for more painting time.  New artwork and prints will flow into my shop in the coming seasons.  Many new books feature fresh pastel and oil painting illustrations.  The oil originals need some drying time before they ship.  There are many new ideas and sensations to blend, scrape, and brush onto the patient blank canvases.  I’ve been dreaming up stacks of paintings for decades…and now I have my little seasonal painting studio!

How do you love to enjoy your minutes?

*Health Tip for Painters:  Don’t just stretch your canvas…stretch yourself!  Music also helps to remind you to stretch before and after painting.  Dance-painting is needed to reach the span of my larger canvases…and it’s fun!  Sing, release, and have a blast connecting with your soul.

Grateful for these few rainy June days to help clear the wild, smokey air.  Love to all who are affected by the wildfires.

Love, ~Amor Milagre

Old World Romance

The tulips and daffodils have fallen back down to sleep.  This is the week of the lily, iris, dame’s rocket, and rhododendron.  We wash and organize teapots and teaspoons.

After decades of roaming and building, we are nesting down and nearing the end of our Rose Cottage kitchen renovation.  Here is a peek at the creamy, plum, moody cafe we made for this house.  All of it was custom designed by Amor Milagre (me) and expertly handmade by my talented husband.  I love these shelves!  Return to sense more of this kitchen as sofas and chairs dance around the corner, through the doors, and rest before new picture windows, framing the gardens in June’s bloom.

Wishing you a peaceful, cosy cup of tea type of summer!  Love, ~Amor Milagre

Days Ahead

Art Collections Spring Summer 23 Collection Amor Milagre

I wish you a safe, healthy spring of refreshing energy.

Going forward, I am going backward to my original ways.  I will be adding more content on my journal page.  I deleted my instagram account as I found it to be a waste of my energy and time.  It was also too much screen time which causes/increases illness.  I never liked the idea of social media.  I chose not to participate in it for years.  I only tried it recently so that my company could be more easily found on this endless sea of websites.  It’s not worth it, and I have many real things to do.  That formula doesn’t match up with my company’s message of living a unique and authentic life.  The endless cycle of posting is simultaneously too personal and impersonal.  There is so much spam, bullying, and harassment.  It requires too much attention and distracts from real work.  Social media is another preventable form of pollution.  We don’t want that static in our life.  I am going back to my old, natural process.

Privacy is peaceful.  Stay safe.

You are enough just being you.  Be real.  Life is not a commercial.  Live.

New loving artwork and books are coming up.

Get back to Nature.  Love to all, Amor Milagre

At home, at Christmas Rose Cottage, I love richly romantic art, empowering for all genders, depicting gentle, natural scenes to encourage self reflection and a very personal relationship with the higher Self, the inner and true self.  Be it my own loving artwork or prints of passions from long ago, little higher selves can live around these positive images, choose their own, and always look within for whole health Love to feel their bright light of love shining out into the universe, forever glowing for their true hearts to be in their world with clear senses.

Change your artwork with the season if you like to infuse your days with cozy, natural inspiration.  Wander a museum, art gallery, online art history research, or your pencil and paper.  What kind of artwork imagery are you drawn to?  Where do our connections come from?  What, or who, we connect to from forever ago, yes it may be familiar, but we can still choose, now in this moment, is this helpful or harmful?  What feelings does an image, or soul, invoke?  Familiar doesn’t have to mean positive…or negative…we have a choice.  Peace and love this day, holiday, and all days ahead. Design is powerful and so are all of our choices, which imagery is peaceful and calming for you?  Surround yourself in what you Love, XOXO ~ Amor Milagre

Home Renovation Design Diaries: Living Room Fireplace Makeover

Amor Milagre Home Renovation Design Diaries Living Room Fireplace Makeover Holiday stockings Interior Design Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com
Amor Milagre Home Renovation

Just in time for cuddling up for the holidays, this fireplace renovation design is now bright, light, clean, and cozy.  Slowly and steadily, smoothly and patiently, we are renovating our entire new-old house.  An earthy deep plum hugs the walls of this darling sitting room.  Cream linen parge kissed the dusty bricks a million times to form a protective, clean, and chic cloak.  I design by instinct, to soothe the senses for maximum energy, using sustainable, healthy materials.  This shadowy sitting room design keeps to it’s natural moody tendency, but instead of looking dingy or dirty, the darker walls and the lightened fireplace are a crisp, delicious focus.  The room is now centered, and we feel more balanced being there.  This colour combination is uncluttered and very fun to decorate and accessorize.  Deep red wreaths and blacksmith pieces complement winter holiday decor of sweet stockings, Christmas tree ornaments, table runners, mini glitter houses, golden gift boxes, tartan plaid gift bags, all chosen to match and to be reused each year in this loving, celebratory room.  This is the old fashioned children’s toy playroom as well.  Wooden trains, an antique puppet theater, musical instruments, and a rocking bear all love to be here.  Berry rich velvet pillows and fluffy cream throws lounge on the new caramel sofa, to be revealed soon!  Happy Holidays!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Home Renovation Design Diaries & Tips: Yoga Painting

Amor Milagre Yoga Painting Home Renovation Diaries Designer Tips Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com

Flocks of W’s and V’s wrap up the walls of our new home at Rose Cottage.  Patch, sand, prime, paint, repeat.  Stretch and bend, over, under, on tiptoes, and balanced on ladders.  How tall are you, what is your reach, and how tall are the ceilings?  Which tools could help you ergonomically paint your darling home?

I’ve received some questions about renovating.  Here are some painting tips.  Your best friend is practice, nothing fancy, but your home will look fancy!

  • Rollers & Extenders:  I find an extender useful with a roller for the middle to top in one position, then stretch to bend for the bottom.  With so much to do, the body needs care and caution.  For high ceilings, steady ladders and a good extender help your back.  This also helps to finish the job much faster and smoother.
  • Angled paint brushes are great for striking out ceilings, woodwork, and corners.  Go slow and steady.  You can always touch up ceilings later if a bristle flecks paint.
  • Use No VOC paint and open windows.  Towels under closed doors help other rooms stay unscented.
  • Tiny art brushes are great for narrow window grid trim.  Painting tape keeps trim and window glass clean.  Use the tape like a straight edge.  Pull it to bend, and press to seal.  This reminded me of my 2D foundation design class for colour theory.  We taped boards to layer shapes and colours with paint and matte medium.  Once you get the trick of it, by practicing, you’ll never scrape paint off glass again.
  • Stretch like in yoga.  Bend, balance, strengthen, but don’t breathe in the paint. 🙂
  • Reuse rollers and brushes by keeping in airtight bag during a project.  Wash when done with a colour, and let dry.  If painting many areas, a rotating routine helps by having several brushes and rollers to use.  Label colours on each bag and set with matching paint can.
  • *Don’t spray the paint as it’s unhealthy for your breathing air.
  • Playing music, for whichever mood you’re ready for, helps you sway with the brushstrokes.  Take your time to save time.
  • I like to paint the trim and doors the same as the wall for a serene aesthetic.
  • Taking breaks is good for muscles, drying times, and an energy boost.  Eating well and sleeping early helps complete renovations faster with less frustrating accidents.  I like to map out a painting routine for the week with room goals.  It helps keep track of what is done, and what is ready to do next.
  • Supportive shoes, ones you don’t mind getting a bit painty, lend strength and longevity to painting sessions.
  • Tarps help keep splatters off floors and walls.  Burlap ones rattle less than plastic ones when windows are open.
  • Temperature is important.  Is the humidity right?  Is it warm enough to paint?  Stir paint before using.
  • Check and clean up as you go.  Check for drips, and smooth out overlap marks.
  • Remove hardware when possible and reattached later.  Tape and cover permanent hardware to keep it unpainted and useful.
  • Use the right paint for each surface.  All your work is worth the energy if the paint stays nice and doesn’t chip due to the wrong paint choice.  Look at the labels.  Trim paint for wood trim.  Wall paint and often paint/primer all in one for walls.  Anything metal, plastic, or other, find the matching paint type.  Ask the shop for advice.
  • Check the paint colour on the chip to see if it was mixed properly before leaving the store.  Check the colour with a sample before ordering large gallon quantities.  Paint a spot on each wall to check how light and shadow change your colour.
  • Surface preparation is key for smooth walls.  Fill in cracks, holes, and dents.  Sand smooth and prime.  Check before painting.

When choosing paint colours, the natural light and room purpose are important to consider.  Look for healthy no-VOC paint options.  Find the family of colours you like, then choose one with enough earthiness for a soothing countenance.  Try it on every wall to see the shadows at all times of day.  What feels comforting to you?

Any more reno questions, I’ll be here painting, and I’ll get back to you once I wash my painty hands.  Happy Colours!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Planting Spring Flower Bulbs & Seeds in Autumn, Soil Health

Amor Milagre Home & Garden Renovation Design Diaries & Tips Planting Spring Flower Bulbs & Seeds in Autumn Trees Soil Health Organic Garden Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com

After long rains, we ventured out into puddly soil and fresh morning air in wellies and our ‘Monty Don blues’ (a favourite before we knew of him and that he adores blues for gardening, too.)  Dear little plants nestled into their newly raked flower beds.  Many deep roots and overgrown misplaced plants were moved and removed from beds near the house to allow for lower evergreen perennial gardens.  This design plan helps the house look grander, cozier, visible, and darling.  It also allows for more plants, wildlife, and pollinators.  A symphony of beautiful plants, timed to the rhythms of the seasons.  Whites, creams, apricots, plums, and pinks are on the planting menu this month.  Tulips, alliums, and daffodils of varying textures and hues pair well with an old bulb digger shovel.  A faerie garden for white and apricot foxglove and other English cottage garden flowers is carefully being planted, each wonderfully beautiful seed at a time, in between delicate moss and mushrooms and under a carpet of golden leaves.  We’re careful not to tread on anyone sleeping under leaf tents while planting magic for Spring.

Amor Milagre Home & Garden Renovation Design Diaries & Tips Planting Spring Flower Bulbs & Seeds in Autumn Trees Leaves Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com

For a natural planting, think of the wind and soil!  How does the wind carry crisp Autumn flower seeds to new homes?  How do bulbs expand their homes naturally under the soil and how do animals help?  How does a magical underground world of fungi reduce the world’s pollution?  It is truly inspiring!  Plant in small groups, here and there.  Not lined up, but in cozy organic clusters, with the recommended spacing and planting depth.  Think of how plants look in Nature, huddled in little families by a river bank or dotted and spread across a field of infinite plant species.  Think of the heights of each plant, the colours, the textures, bloom times, sun exposure, wind, temperature, soil, and drainage.  For many bulbs and seeds, Winter’s cold temperatures activate the plant to grow in the Spring & Summer.  It’s important to learn which ones needs this and which need immediate planting in warm soil, like tomato seeds in early Summer.  After lots of planting, stretching the legs with a walk about the garden is good before washing up.  How simply luxurious it feels to get your hands ‘dirty’ while planting exciting colours for Spring!

Have fun, too!  If you’re upset or rushed when planting, it may show when time comes for blooms.  Singing or humming to your plants is positive energy that will help them grow and please yourself as you plant.  Researching your plants and taking pleasure in learning about them will help create an ease before planting time.  No need to mark everything while mixing your bulbs and seeds, as the whole garden would be covered in markers.  Developing a memory of plants is a good practice, and a journal helps keep track of plants between seasons (Coming Soon to My Shop!), as well as video diaries and pictures.  Add in other perennials amongst them.  How beautiful it is to have a mixture of unique beings all together in one garden bed!  What a joy it is to express through the living medium of gardening.  No painting is as delicate and breath-giving as a shimmering velvety translucent flower petal, thought of by the ever impressive Mamma Nature.  An idea, first mapped out through paints on paper, then come to life in the Earth, breathing fresh air and swaying in the wind!

Amor Milagre Home & Garden Renovation Design Diaries & Tips Planting Spring Flower Bulbs & Seeds in Autumn Trees Soil Health Stop Pollution Grow Organic Foods Garden Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com

Remember the magic from centuries and eons ago.  It’s in the soil!  Everything grows from the soil.  Once upon a time, soil health was at the forefront of all minds because, as it still is today, it is vital for our existence and daily life.  It is also the source of great imagination!  Stop pollution and take great care of our past, present, and future.  (Paving is a type of pollution).  Healthy soil decreases pollution.  Organic composting and caring for our garden soil is of great importance for all.  Soil health is a big resource, priority, and responsibility.  Think of all who live in the soil.  Worms are a great resource, as are all wildlife.  Grow your own organic foods for optimal health and great enjoyment.  Gardening is helpful exercise for body, mind, heart, and soul.  Growing plants from seeds and bulbs encourages strength and hardiness for the plants.  It aids in a positive personal character and growing lasting patience for the gardener.  It teaches us which plants like to grow where.  There is a relationship there, if gardeners listen to the Earth.  So many answers speak to us.  What colours, textures, shapes, scents, and senses would you like to encourage to grow in your garden?  Think long term.  Take care and time.  A garden can grow in any size space from pot to field.  Everyone is a gardener.

More gardening posts are coming up, and stay tuned to see these darlings bloom next Spring & Summer.  Little voices whisper to each bulb and seed as they’re planted, “Sleep well in your Winter bed, see you soon, sweet dreams, I love you!”  Happy Autumn Gardening!  XOXO ~Amor MilagreAmor Milagre Home & Garden Renovation Design Diaries & Tips Planting Spring Flower Bulbs & Seeds in Autumn Trees Golden Leaves Ethical Gift Shop amormilagre.com

Home & Garden Renovation Design Diaries & Tips: Right Plant Right Place

Shop Amor Milagre Garden Redesign Home & Garden Renovation Right Plant Right Place Autumn 2019 blue hydrangea Ethical Romantic Gift Collections amormilagre.com

‘The right plant in the right place’ gardening principle is all about choosing the right plant, that you love, and placing it in the right conditions (soil, wind, air, water, sun, temperature, etc), but also in the right place in the garden.

Our house renovations extend into the garden as the overgrown shrubs and trees were placed too near the house walls, windows, and doors years ago.  Choosing the right plant for the expected mature growth is also very important.  Yes, all the baby plants look tiny and darling when you first tuck them into their new beds, but oh how they will grow!  The plants in our garden here are over 30 years old and many look lovely as a hedge border, but too many are sick because they are too near manmade structures and are not getting the proper amount of light and air circulation.  House foundation and siding issues are common for old houses that have large, deeply rooted, plants too near the house walls.  This week, we’ve been busy removing such large plants, but it’s sad to cut any living plant.  For empaths, it hurts.  It’s very important to choose and place your plants in a well-planned spot because they spend their whole lives striving, growing, and surviving the conditions you place them in, only to be cut down at their beautiful peak.

Everyone can design their gardens with the knowledge of plants so that we may look out the windows to admire them, sit amongst them with a cup of tea, take care of them over a long loving lifetime, and so they may proudly grow in beauty and age undisturbed.  Research your plants before you add them into the Earth, move them, prune, or remove them.

*All ages enjoy Nature, gardening, and plants.  Nature calms the nerves, solves problems, and restores us to our real Selves.  This state opens our ‘Light of Love’ up to the knowledge of the Universe, and this helps us, here, in our daily lives.  Be kind to your plants and they will continue to take great care of you, too.  Live in Nature, where life makes sense…Shop Amor Milagre Garden Redesign Home & Garden Renovation Right Plant Right Place Autumn 2019 Ethical Romantic Gift Collections amormilagre.com

Plants provide beautiful sound barriers as well as creating fresh oxygen for us all.  They are dependable homes for all living animals and insects, and inspire us to live outside more.  If you do have to cut branches, place them in the woods or in a spot in your garden to make a nice organic compost pile.  This also makes a nice home for your garden dwelling wildlife.  Today, we made a kind of burrow stack in the side woods and invited all of the animals and faeries to nestle in before Winter.  Back into the Earth to renew and provide nutrients for a most precious gift, Soil.

How difficult are the roots to remove?  Probably very as that is their beautiful design.  Will everyone like the plants you’re adding?  Yes, at some point, we all move on and new gardeners come in.  It’s tricky to please everyone as plants keep our connections and memories, but if we let go and sense the plants as they truly are, we can appreciate them as they are, connected in Nature.  We couldn’t help but notice that rhododendrons are tricky ones.  Roots spreading sideways like walking trees…so many roots and shoots.  These plants need space, so next to a house is not a good place for them, especially if left to grow into a hedge.

Our new garden plans are coming up so please stay tuned!  In the meantime, take a wander outside into the botanical world and browse your library.  Experience the marvels of Nature.  You can save seeds and spread Nature everywhere again, while keeping in mind to preserve our silly manmade structures, so we use less of Nature’s resources to rebuild our neglected, non-living contraptions.  Exploring how Nature grows proves human invention nonsensical.  How truly smart Nature is…how she weaves all her creations together in such a harmonious world of inclusiveness.  We are the ones who are getting in her way.  Oh, how I wish I were the wind, a snail, a fox, or a more natural human…perhaps I once was and will be again…but for now, I’ll take care of her and us.  Happy Nature Explorations!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

For months prior to moving, I planned the designs for our new home.  Only after removing the layers of days lived before could I recognize this house as our home.  Good Morning, Rose Cottage!  We’ll help you to be a cozy reverie before the winter holidays visit.

The dusty & dysfunctional:  curtains, carpets, plumbing, fixtures, cabinets, windows, doors, and heating system need removing, updating, and fixing.

This month’s renovations include:

  • New flooring (cork underlay and FSC Certified sustainable engineered wood flooring)
  • Editing the gardens to allow for Spring bulbs and new garden designs
  • Updating bathrooms
  • Washing Windows
  • Begin to Replace the Entire Heating System
  • Parging textured walls and fireplace
  • Paint swatches everywhere including the exterior, patching, and painting
  • Measuring for new furniture, designs to build, and lighting
  • A general unpacking of our things and tidying/selling of things left behind

There is much to do and little time, but the breeze is lovely and Autumn is letting her hair down in golden leaves.  More renovation inspiration to come.  Happy Autumn Leaf Enjoying Days and Happy Renovating to those walking in our dusty shoes!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

The new house designs are planned and will be excitedly shared here as each room is updated.  Good designs take time to grow just as a garden evolves in time.  A house is not finished and full all at once.  Over the years, we can make and stumble upon things to adorn the walls and sketchbooks.  Renovations will be appearing in this Amor Milagre journal and design books in the coming seasons.  Our new home will provide more time for me to release many collections, as well as a quieter lifestyle for our family.  We hope no one pollutes our new reverie as they did our darling Dove Cottage.  All the good memories we do have from this house are layered with the stress of the sound pollution.  We look forward to truly wonderful and healthy memories.

My book characters were born in our first house, inspiring silly dreams at bedtime, many of which are still waiting to jump into the Shop.  My husband hand-cleared the land for the house, made paths in the woods by walking his adored daily stroll in the trees years before we met.  Later, we married in our wooded haven.  We watched a family of deer cross the snowy yard every twilight.  Toys danced on the new FSC Certified flooring and little hands circled their first crayon masterpiece, making first storybooks.  New vegan recipes shined in the organic no-dig garden and were enjoyed at the table.  Illustrations graced the walls, beautifully papered with non-toxic, unscented materials.  Radiant heat kept us cozy in the cold months, and mini-split heat pumps cooled us on hot days.  All would have been more enjoyable if we could feel the breeze through our new rooms, but the sound pollution from machines, highways, deforestation, and disrespectful new neighbours increased to a level so hard to exist in, our beautiful new large windows that brought Nature in, had to stay closed.  No open fresh air means ill health, even with a mechanical ventilation system.  Where is common curtesy?  Where is compassion?  Where are manners and human dignity?  Where is Love for all living things?  We’re hopefully moving there…or at least we will continue to encourage these loving practices wherever we go…

‘Dove Cottage’ is only now ‘finished’ because we are leaving it.  A home is never ‘done’, but rather it changes over time and when in new hands.  We only just now finished the interior projects in order to move, some varying from our plans, and after all of our work, we haven’t even been able to live in the finished spaces due to our hastened move caused by sound pollution.  Though we did carve out some lovely exterior gardens, we haven’t had time to finish the garden plans around the house to share.  Our sacrifice, work, money, muscle, patience, and every second from the past several years was dedicated to Dove Cottage.  All was done by our loving hands and imagination with good health in mind for each choice.  It has been an unnecessary struggle. We didn’t even get to try the new shower or kitchen that we have only just finished.  We told the house to share the Loving Energy we gave her to the new owners and visitors.

***Amor Milagre, and our family, is in no way associated with any new owners, but our original designs of this house are copyrighted:  All Rights Reserved © 2011-2019 Amor Milagre.  I will finish and release some projects that include imagery from this house, but if any images of our house are shared online that are not by myself, Amor Milagre, then please remember that it is not us and we are not responsible for them or any messages or actions they put out into the Universe.  The internet sometimes connects images, but the sources are often lost, so please do not confuse Amor Milagre with anyone else.  The house will look similar to how it does now, as fixtures, wallpaper, paint colours, curtains, and other items are staying.  Of course, any changes to the designs going forward are not done by us and we are not associated with or responsible for new or changed designs after we move.  We are not them, and they are not us.  We designed and made this house.  Our new house will be our home and the new place of Atelier Amor Milagre (Design Studio & Office).

*Humans need to realize what they are doing to their own lives and everything all over.  Deforestation destroys ecosystems and sound barriers.  Machines (and neighbours even after speaking to them and then reporting them) need to stop polluting in every way.  We hope to regain our hearing that was lost and to recover from illnesses and stress made by constant sound pollution.  It is very serious and needs awareness to be made for it in order for healthy long-term changes to be made worldwide.  We hope to build a new home to last many lifetimes in a peaceful place for good health, and not suffer anymore from the selfishness of others.  That was what our Dove Cottage was supposed to be and why every second was pushed for it so that at some point we could settle in and truly live.  The nomadic life is exhausting and upsetting.  Everyone craves ‘home’, wherever that is for them.  We simply want to go home.

Leaving our home was made worse by the current system for selling and buying.  The real estate system is dysfunctional and massively problematic to endure.  It has failed us since Spring.  It is completely unorganized, out of order, and one late email or misplaced paper from any one of the many people involved can cause an entire deal to fall apart after the last second is up.  The incredibly hectic, unrealistic way it operates is unacceptable.  Everyone who speaks of it has their own terrible tale.  We have informed the ‘people in charge’ of this system of healthy ideas for a complete redesign of this industry.  You can use your voice to change this system.  Find your state board of realtors to let them know how troubling this system is.  They are aware of the issues, but don’t even apologize for it.  “That’s the way it is…” they say.  For everyone’s sake, they need to change it.  It’s not a nice work day for them either.  For us, it’s been yet another challenge to untangle.  We don’t want to just get through it, forget it, and move on to more positive things because, if there is an issue that affects everyone, we must try to change it to be positive for everyone.  It is still our problem even after we move.  What if we have to move again, or our friend needs to move, or anyone needs to move?  We don’t want the same system to impair our children’s life later on..or now.  There is no steadiness for planning.  Everything is last minute and you can’t count on it.  It causes you to tell your children unreliable information and that is confusing and distressing to your daily life, memories, and planning.  Every detail of life is on hold and disturbed for who knows how long.  The fees are too high, and not affected by poor performance; there is no pay reduction consequence for missing deadlines or poor communication.  We had to do most of the work ourselves to get anything done.  Another industry that needs more care, healthier options, and to charge less is the construction business.  We build our houses ourselves because we have to, even though we have very little time with both of us working full time jobs and parenting.  The local contractors overcharge and don’t provide healthy practices or good craftsmanship.  They also pollute your home, as does the real estate system, even when scent/pollution rules are set for showings and appointments.

*We really care about what we do, whether that is making a family dinner, designing our home, or painting up collections for the Amor Milagre Shop.  What we all do matters greatly to everyone and our Selves.

Each industry needs a re-design with Good Health for All as the focus.  What industries have you been involved in or have experience with?  How can you make healthy choices and changes?  Let’s not ignore problems.  Let’s resolve them.

We dearly hope to at long last be settled and sleep well, even though we have to start over once again, rebuilding an old house, after building an efficient lovely new one with amazing healthy features and non-toxic sustainable beautiful materials.  It’s amazing how truly hard it has been, having a baby, being ill, working, building, enduring and rebuilding our life every day just because the people around us do not care about their effect on the world.  All with little to no sleep due to neighbours and highways (deforestation).  Not being able to open the windows due to sound pollution causes so many illnesses and all can be prevented.  Fresh air is vital.  The nervous system and immune system need to feel safe, quiet, calm, and nurtured for good whole health.  Trusting your instincts is important, but exhausting if all you hear is threatening sound pollution.  Life does not need to be so difficult, complex, and painful.  Life, by Nature, is absolutely beautiful, if we let it be beautiful for all of us, every day connecting with Nature.  Be aware, be kind, be sensical, be gentle, be loving, be purely you!  XOXO  ~Amor Milagre

Amor Milagre: Reuse Ethical Packaging

Amor Milagre Ethical Sustainable Reusable Packaging Boxes Spring Collection 2019 Custom Design Art Organic Vegan Gifts Baby & Child amormilagre.com

A Gift for you!  Wrapped in respect for Nature, Amor Milagre packages are freshly wrapped this Spring so that you may reuse the boxes within for gifts and storage.  This prolongs the life of the box as a box.  The boxes can hold your dearest treasures or supplies waiting to become your dearest treasures.  Helpful on an office shelf, in a nursery, a bookshelf, or a storage room, these clean recycled brown boxes are a beautiful neutral for your home and office.  The packages are wrapped in a reusable, recycled brown kraft paper.  The name of the recipient is handwritten on the top of the package for a special personalized feeling upon arrival.  All packaging is responsibly sourced, made of recycled material, and FSC Certified.  I’ve always been in Love with the realm of trees and Nature.  It’s important to source responsible materials.  I use minimal packaging, and with this process, the box is able to be reused, Loved, and adored.  Use the paper for anything you can, and recycle or compost if too messy from shipping.  Use for packing when you move or ship another package.  Fold in half and use the clean sides to cover books for school or to soothe your bookshelf.  Paint a mural!  If clean, use both sides for a large blank canvas to draw on.  Kids will love this adventure!  Tidying up your home is very rewarding.  When all of your things have a special place, you can easily find what you crave, and save your energy for the next passion to enjoy in life.  Love to the trees!  XOXO  ~Amor Milagre

Amor Milagre Ethical Sustainable Reusable Packaging Boxes nature Spring Collection Light 2019 Custom Design Art Organic Vegan Gifts Baby & Child amormilagre.com

I adore calligraphy and classic bakery style boxes.  My packaging doesn’t use string, but I love the feeling of a parcel wrapped in brown paper with your name on it!  This is especially exciting when someone else has bought this surprise for you.  A little box on your doorstep!  What is inside?  A gift for me!

Another way to keep your order’s packaging in good shape for reuse is to instruct your mail carrier, (we use USPS for all orders), to deliver your packages to a specific spot.  One that is nice, dry, and easy for you to see and bring in.  You can also ask to pick up your parcels at the post office so they stay very dry and clean.

It’s a lovely and vital idea for everyone to cut down on using excessive amounts of packaging and packaging that is wasted or only used once.  We can grow more Love for the initial materials and energy used to make even one simple box.  How many uses can you find for a box?  Children love to play with boxes.  These boxes make wonderful beds for dolls, puppet stages, houses for tiny mice toys, treasure chests for letters from Dear Ones, and beaches for my upcoming organic cotton toy collection!  They are also perfect for storing artwork, holiday cards, and art & craft supplies.  The labels help children learn to spell and read.  Amor Milagre is an inclusive company.  I not only try to include all people when making the product collections, choosing packaging, and mindfully writing new book characters, but how is everything cherished?  How can a product live throughout time?  How can we share Love and responsibly choose ‘A Gentle Life?’
