Just in time for cuddling up for the holidays, this fireplace renovation design is now bright, light, clean, and cozy. Slowly and steadily, smoothly and patiently, we are renovating our entire new-old house. An earthy deep plum hugs the walls of this darling sitting room. Cream linen parge kissed the dusty bricks a million times to form a protective, clean, and chic cloak. I design by instinct, to soothe the senses for maximum energy, using sustainable, healthy materials. This shadowy sitting room design keeps to it’s natural moody tendency, but instead of looking dingy or dirty, the darker walls and the lightened fireplace are a crisp, delicious focus. The room is now centered, and we feel more balanced being there. This colour combination is uncluttered and very fun to decorate and accessorize. Deep red wreaths and blacksmith pieces complement winter holiday decor of sweet stockings, Christmas tree ornaments, table runners, mini glitter houses, golden gift boxes, tartan plaid gift bags, all chosen to match and to be reused each year in this loving, celebratory room. This is the old fashioned children’s toy playroom as well. Wooden trains, an antique puppet theater, musical instruments, and a rocking bear all love to be here. Berry rich velvet pillows and fluffy cream throws lounge on the new caramel sofa, to be revealed soon! Happy Holidays! XOXO ~Amor Milagre
