10 Helpful Healthy Energy Tips For Calm Meditation

Amor Milagre 10 Helpful Tips For Calm Meditation Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Organic Baby & Child Books amormilagre.com

When you feel like you’ve done too much, it’s not time to do more.  Pause, Stop. Rest…  Unwind with meditation to remember how to truly rest all of you.  Here are 10 helpful tips for calm meditation for all ages.  Take gentle care of you. xoxo ~Amor Milagre

  1.   Eat fresh plant foods and hydrate.  Stretch slowly to circulate any trapped chemicals in your body.  Drink water to improve the flow.
  2.   Routines that build energy help you.  Matching low energy with unhealthy foods and negative habits harms you.  What is helpful?  What grows positive habits?  What gives you energy?
  3.   Breathe fresh air.  See the leaves and seasons change.  Harmonize with Nature’s rhythms.
  4.   A calm space where you feel safe and are able to sit or lay still and quietly is helpful to unwind into meditation.  With practice, you can meditate in any place.
  5.   Open and unwind.  If you’re unsure how to begin, try resting quietly, without added layers of sound.  If you have trouble with this, a guided meditation can help you build a meditation routine into your memory to use any time you need to let go and refocus.  Use something as low-tech as possible.  You can even write your own guide and read aloud before beginning.  Natural sounds are helpful for connecting to Nature, so open a window or visit a garden.  A comfortable position, balanced for your spine and posture, and able to breathe in your best way, is helpful for grounding down into the Earth.  If you can, go outside, remove shoes, and ground your energy down, energizing from the Earth’s core.
  6.   Keep a small and large perspective for a balance of calm reflection and revitalization.
  7.   A healthy skincare and Self care routine helps before meditation so you feel settled and fresh, ready to explore knowing your Higher and Inner Self.  Unplug electronics for a quiet space.  Low lighting is soothing.  A soft eye mask or a cloth over your eyes can help block light, and with lavender or other favourite scented plants, you can ease into feeling your senses and awareness more naturally.
  8. An hour to let go, explore, and open helps you to not rush or dwell too long.  Release any pressure for specific goals or expectations.  What will come will surface.  Listen with your heart, open.
  9. Maintaining a healthy meditation routine helps you to keep your energy, so you don’t dip too low, lacking energy.  Humans’ ways and routines are often energy zappers for others, so be mindful to create your own unique routines for your unique needs.
  10.   You can heal your Self with breathing, processing, and letting go.  Trust your Self to take care of you, and you can take care of your whole Self, your Soul, and the Universe.

10 Things I’ve Loved Since Childhood, The Imagination of the Senses

Amor Milagre 10 Things I've Loved Since Childhood, The Imagination of the Senses 2019 Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Apparel Organic Vegan Baby & Child childhood memories amormilagre.com

Whether you’re a parent or a child at heart, remembering your favourite childhood memories is beneficial for a happy, healthy lifestyle at any age.  How did it feel to fly down the street on your bicycle, wind on your face, and freedom in your heart?  Here are just 10 things I’ve Loved since childhood.  No matter what else was going on, Nature was my reverie for funny ideas and soothing rhythms.  Speaking to your Inner Self and Inner Child helps you have fun every day.  This practice also helps you to teach your children how to have good, simple fun, anywhere at any time.  What do you like to do in your imagination of the senses?  Happy Spring!

  1.  Swinging with my curly hair down in the breeze.
  2. Walking up a hill, climbing a tree, and watching the sunset’s beautiful colours each night.
  3. Carving pumpkins and trick-or-treating on Halloween.
  4. Swimming in the ocean in light rain.
  5. Drawing pictures of anything.
  6. Running barefoot in the grass when it’s lightly raining in the summer.
  7. Making up stories and silly games outside in Nature with a friend from down the street.
  8. Dancing with the fireflies in the magical summer evenings.
  9. Designing my ideal town of kindness with chalk on the driveway, and then wheeling around on the tiny roads.
  10. Eating watermelon and tomatoes in the garden.

Of course there are some more, but these were sitting in my eyes.  Everything I Loved then, still lives in my mind now, so it’s easy to have innocent, real fun because I’ve been practicing it since then.  Remember, there is no age that you can reach that says you’re not allowed to laugh and play.  So laugh, so play, have a lovely time today!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Colour Mood Outfit & Gift Guide: Lilac & Black + Ethical Fashion & Personal Style Tips 2019

Amor Milagre Spring Fashion Personal Style 2019 Lilac Purple & black clasp vintage handbag 1940's colour mood Ethical Handmade Gift Shop Art Organic Women's amormilagre.com

A vintage handbag is a marvelous traveller.  With her dusty pleats and still working clasp, a chic bracelet handle carries me back to her first wearer’s energy, in the 1940’s.  How did she waltz all over the world?  In understated style.  This post shows that a simple pairing lends effortless style to your daily wears.  Lilac is the light tips of emerging iris bulb blooms, and black is the shadowy Earth below.  Inspired by Nature and the Senses, XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Designer Tip of the Day:  Simple Pairings

(Featured in my Upcoming Design Book).

A pairing of 1-2 colours keeps an outfit chic and simple.  Here, a pale silky lilac lace camisole and a dusty ribbed black crop trouser create texture contrast and complement one another softly.  Delicate gold jewelry subtly smiles in the mirror of the hardware on a favourite vintage 1940’s handbag.  This simple way of throwing together an ensemble is effortless to do and to perceive.  Pair with espadrilles in a pale nude pink, a straw hat or black beret.  Have a stroll about the gardens and wander through town, settling at a local cafe for hot chocolate and music.  A gentle outfit helps a gently thoughtful day unfold.

The Favourite Series: May Garden Children’s Books Reading List

Amor Milagre May 2019 Favourite Series Garden Children's Book Reading List Spring Ethical Organic Gift Shop Handmade Gift Shop Art Vegan Baby & Child amormilagre.com

We love books and gardening, so when the stories are set in the garden, the imagination tangles like vines and brings us outside to read in our Children’s Garden.  Planting seeds in the Earth and positive seeds in our minds are healthy ways to celebrate the glorious Springtime!

To start your own children’s garden:  Find a little place and plant favourite seeds, chosen by children.  Little hands find little stones and moss to make pathways, faerie houses, and spots for new flowers and herbs.  Explore daily to enjoy new sprouts and blooms.  Open the imagination and unfold stories waiting under leaves and branches.  Divide and replant perennials each year to expand your garden.  If in a small space, pots are helpful. Some are specially designed to stack for vertical colour.  Create a wall of vines and climbing flowers for faeries to sleep in.  Breathe in your fresh healthy garden.  Teach your hands how to measure a garden naturally.  Children of all ages from 0-1000+ can enjoy the Love a garden gives.  Grow and eat organic foods to boost immune systems and give energy for daily play.  Fresh air is vital for a healthy body and mindset.  Leaves and petals inspire a most sincere connection with Nature.  Happy Mother Nature and Happy Mother’s Day!  A garden is pure magic to all who befriend her.  These book covers are beautiful around the house, and their pages are positive senses in the library of childhood memories.

This Children’s Book Reading List (View More Here) is a part of my new ‘Favourite Series’ which I’ll add to each season.  I can only recommend the books on this list in the means of imagination, and not always for how each book is made.  The only books on this list that I know for sure are ethically made are my own handmade books.  All of my books feature the benefits of gardens.  They are inspired by how the senses connect with Nature.  The books here are chosen by the young, and as a parent, I agree that these are helpful and beautiful.  This is the children’s list!  I won’t write our impressions, as it’s best to allow your first impression to be purely your own.  It is hard to choose only a few to share, so many more children’s book reading lists are coming up!  Happy Reading & Spring Gardening!  XOXO ~Amor Milagre

Favourite Baskets: Ethical Fashion Handbag, Market Shopping, Home Design, & Garden

Amor Milagre A-Tisket A-Tasket Basket 6 Home Decor Interior Design Spring Ethical Organic Apparel Collection 2019 toddler Handmade Gift Shop Art Apparel Vegan Baby & Child Easter amormilagre.com

A-tisket, a-tasket, we love our favourite baskets.  A different basket for each task-et.  To continue growing the ‘Favourite Series’, I’m sharing tips and info about our favourite gathering of baskets for:  home, personal style, organic cooking & gardening, and chic Spring-Summer handbags.

Some of our uses for these baskets are:  daily handbag, dry produce, fresh garden produce, mail, kitchen & dining linens, garden planters, books, laundry, food shopping in town, picnics, office/wardrobe/mudroom storage, special supplies, baby & doll bassinet, organic beauty products, and storage for family outtings.

One positive choice influences another.  Perhaps a market basket will inspire you to support your local organic farmers, taking healthy walks to gather your food. A natural home inspires us to go out and balance in Nature.  What do you use baskets for?

Using well made baskets is ethical, economical, and texturally pleasing.  To maximize your sustainability, you can learn to make your own baskets.  This really comes in handy when a repair is needed.  This journal text appears in my upcoming Design Book, so check back for more!

Designer Tip of the Day:

When choosing a basket, it’s helpful to think about:

~The main use and other possible purposes.  What are you storing or carrying in it?

~Colours, textures, sizes, smoothness, and weights.  A balance of differences creates a peaceful design.

~Where will the basket live and how will it be used?

~Who made it?  Were they paid fairly?  What is it made of?  Is it non-toxic so it doesn’t off-gas in your home or cause illness to those making the products?

~How much joy will it bring you to use a hand-crafted piece?

~Is there a local basket weaver in your area?

~Are the handles and straps comfortable to use and securely attached?

~How can you keep it in good shape to last many lifetimes?

We love picnics, so a special picnic basket was on our holiday wishlist.  We’re excited to use it this Spring!

Keeping the home calm with natural materials and colours helps our family keep a healthy balance, while organizing things, like laundry, for easy routines.

Gathering fresh food feels even better in a sweet little basket at the shops and in the garden.  Little Dear Ones sneak off with the basket and fill with toys.  Now, it’s a bed or house for a little bear.  Natural materials inspire shopping for fresh, organic food with no packaging.  Bring everything home in your basket and place on the table, ready to enjoy!  Maybe a flower will hop into your basket, ready to plant in the garden?  Special stones, shells, or leaves.  Basket handles feel good to hold.  The senses need Nature.  Sweet and humble, a basket inspires me so.  For more A Gentle Life Collections, news & sales, and healthy lifestyle inspiration, please subscribe at the bottom of this page.

Yes, there is a thing as too many baskets, so choose mindfully with the above tips and your beautiful lifestyle in mind.  Store baskets simply to avoid collecting dust/allergies.  Vinegar-water is an easy way to keep baskets clean.
