New Home Design Series & Books, Interior Design & Sustainable Building

Big changes are happening here. In essence, we’re moving! In the seasons ahead, we’ll have new views and designs to include here. When humans have made too many machines, highways, and sound pollution around your home, it’s time to move out to quiet land, and to rest in Nature. Where is there any left? We’re looking into it, and we will build including Nature, to avoid upsetting her loving system as much as we can. We were just finishing up the building of our handmade organic home, our lovely Dove Cottage, when we were bombarded with, even more, unrelenting sound that will only grow. The past years have been so loud and disturbing for nervous systems and every system we live. Before we can settle in and rest from years of being on-the-go while building, another home needs to be born. Little garden seeds to sew into the rich, warm Earth. Special plants to bring along. Fresh blossoms to behold. New laughs to hold Dear. Our days speak of our new Dove Cottage.

I’ll be posting some design How-tos as we set forth again, as well as the releases of my Organic Design Books. My desk is layered in blueprints, new exciting floor layouts, and watercolour room sketch-ups. Lists, lists, lists. When you think you’re almost done building your ‘forever’ home, it’s exhausting and worrisome to do it again, but in many ways it’s refreshing to think about the healthy days and beautiful sleep-filled nights, under the stars, without any neighbouring lights, and the loving memories and sweet conversations. Quiet, peace, restore, live. We’re worn out, but happy to design the life we need, to give ourselves everything we can for good health from food to sleep. Sensitive people and all people need the option of quiet to rest, heal, and sort, leaving space for new wonderful thoughts of Love & Peace. For more, explore my books!

Cozy November, Pink Applesauce Organic Vegan Recipe, Holidays Made Easy

Staying in on cozy Sunday mornings, frost on the garden, and Angels twirling in handmade pink nightgowns. On the stove, red apples soften into a sumptuous, warm, pink sauce, swirling in cinnamon. Wonderful to taste when warm or cold at your daily and holiday teatime. Sweet voices sing, “May I have a little bit more please?” Happy Sweet November to you! Pink Applesauce

Holidays made easy. Celebrate all the days. A little as you go. Pick apples fresh off the tree or gather some at the market for this simple and versatile recipe. No need to wait for holidays, the wonder of the colour is in the skin of the apple. The nutrients are there, only steamed until soft. Add this sauce into other dishes as a natural moisturizer & sweetener, have as a side dish, and have for a cozy snack on her own. Besides lovely raw foods, lightly cooked recipes like this are easy, healthy, and pleasurable to make, providing a cozy atmosphere, a warm, spicy cloud for the senses!

Non-GMO, organic, fresh, local, vegan ingredients:

Wash a few red apples, more if serving more. Add the roughly diced apples to a pan with a little bit of water for steaming. Sprinkle in 1 tsp of cinnamon, pinch of ground cloves, nutmeg, and a little splash of vanilla or the insides of some vanilla bean. Add a lid and steam the apples until easily pierced by a fork or knife point, about 10 minutes or less, on med-low. Serve like this or lightly blend gently with a fork for applesauce.

Satisfying on its own, as a side dish, snack, and dessert. Enjoy warm, cold, or room temperature. This is a favourite for all ages here. Simple and quick to make, this helps parents and children read a little book while it cooks, then delight together when ready and sweetly fragrant.

This recipe has no added sugar, which is especially great for anyone ill and pregnant moms-to-be, to help stay in optimal health for you and your baby. (It may be helpful when served cold, if ‘morning sickness’ ails you).
