The air is moving, and a delicious new novel is flying in. It will land in my bookshop very soon, and is the first in a new original seasonal series. Some are specially designed to stack for vertical colour. Create a wall of vines and climbing flowers for faeries to sleep in. Breathe in your fresh healthy garden. Teach your hands how to measure a garden naturally. Children of all ages from 0-1000+ can enjoy the Love a garden gives. Grow and eat organic foods to boost immune systems and give energy for daily play. Fresh air is vital for a healthy body and mindset. Leaves and petals inspire a most sincere connection with Nature. Happy Mother Nature and Happy Mother’s Day! A garden is pure magic to all who befriend her. The only books on this list that I know for sure are ethically made are my own handmade books. All of my books feature the benefits of gardens. A-tisket, a-tasket, we love our favourite baskets. A different basket for each task-et. To continue growing the ‘Favourite Series’, I’m sharing tips and info about our favourite gathering of baskets for: home, personal style, organic cooking & gardening, and chic Spring-Summer handbags.
Some of our uses for these baskets are: daily handbag, dry produce, fresh garden produce, mail, kitchen & dining linens, garden planters, books, laundry, food shopping in town, picnics, office/wardrobe/mudroom storage, special supplies, baby & doll bassinet, organic beauty products, and storage for family outtings.
One positive choice influences another. Perhaps a market basket will inspire you to support your local organic farmers, taking healthy walks to gather your food. A natural home inspires us to go out and balance in Nature. What do you use baskets for?
Using well made baskets is ethical, economical, and texturally pleasing. To maximize your sustainability, you can learn to make your own baskets. This really comes in handy when a repair is needed. This journal text appears in my upcoming Design Book, so check back for more!

When choosing a basket, it’s helpful to think about:
~The main use and other possible purposes. What are you storing or carrying in it?
~Colours, textures, sizes, smoothness, and weights. A balance of differences creates a peaceful design.
~Where will the basket live and how will it be used?
~Who made it? Were they paid fairly? What is it made of? Is it non-toxic so it doesn’t off-gas in your home or cause illness to those making the products?
~How much joy will it bring you to use a hand-crafted piece?
~Is there a local basket weaver in your area?
~Are the handles and straps comfortable to use and securely attached?
~How can you keep it in good shape to last many lifetimes?

Gathering fresh food feels even better in a sweet little basket at the shops and in the garden. Little Dear Ones sneak off with the basket and fill with toys. Now, it’s a bed or house for a little bear. Natural materials inspire shopping for fresh, organic food with no packaging. Bring everything home in your basket and place on the table, ready to enjoy! Yes, there is a thing as too many baskets, so choose mindfully with the above tips and your beautiful lifestyle in mind. Store baskets simply to avoid collecting dust/allergies. Vinegar-water is an easy way to keep baskets clean.

The packages are wrapped in a reusable, recycled brown kraft paper. The name of the recipient is handwritten on the top of the package for a special personalized feeling upon arrival. All packaging is responsibly sourced, made of recycled material, and FSC Certified. I’ve always been in Love with the realm of trees and Nature. It’s important to source responsible materials. I use minimal packaging, and with this process, the box is able to be reused, Loved, and adored. Use the paper for anything you can, and recycle or compost if too messy from shipping. Use for packing when you move or ship another package. Fold in half and use the clean sides to cover books for school or to soothe your bookshelf. Paint a mural! If clean, use both sides for a large blank canvas to draw on. Kids will love this adventure! Tidying up your home is very rewarding. I adore calligraphy and classic bakery style boxes. My packaging doesn’t use string, but I love the feeling of a parcel wrapped in brown paper with your name on it! This is especially exciting when someone else has bought this surprise for you. A little box on your doorstep! What is inside? A gift for me!
Another way to keep your order’s packaging in good shape for reuse is to instruct your mail carrier, (we use USPS for all orders), to deliver your packages to a specific spot. One that is nice, dry, and easy for you to see and bring in. You can also ask to pick up your parcels at the post office so they stay very dry and clean.
It’s a lovely and vital idea for everyone to cut down on using excessive amounts of packaging and packaging that is wasted or only used once. We can grow more Love for the initial materials and energy used to make even one simple box. How many uses can you find for a box? Children love to play with boxes. These boxes make wonderful beds for dolls, puppet stages, houses for tiny mice toys, treasure chests for letters from Dear Ones, and beaches for my upcoming organic cotton toy collection! They are also perfect for storing artwork, holiday cards, and art & craft supplies. The labels help children learn to spell and read. Amor Milagre is an inclusive company. I not only try to include all people when making the product collections, choosing packaging, and mindfully writing new book characters, but how is everything cherished? How can a product live throughout time? How can we share Love and responsibly choose ‘A Gentle Life?’
