In the pocket of a trusty travel bag fits a delicious novel and a sweet children’s book to savour on a train or plane, in a lamplit inn with the summer breeze kissing your robed cheeks, or swaying on a hammock in your back garden. ‘Il dolce far niente’ means the sweetness of doing nothing in Italian. Letting yourself find what you love nourishes and rejuvenates the soul. My books are for all ages and encourage authentic, kind, peaceful practices and ideas to try. I love rereading them with our family as I hope you do, too.
In this often chaotic world, I write ways to live beautifully and naturally. My characters help instead of harm. They are funny, sweet, thoughtful, and very real. I send love to anyone who must travel due to emergencies in their homeland. As I know too well, this kind of travel is not at all relaxing as a vacation would be. People leave to save their lives. They are trying to escape danger. All they had built is left behind, and they have to start over, usually with nothing. This is heartbreaking and incredibly dangerous. Precautions and safe help are urgently needed during times of war, natural disasters, and abuse. Every country must protect the rights of women and children. Re-abolish slavery for good. Replace the history of negativity with positive growth that benefits everyone. New beginnings are a chance to redesign for a better life. Although we all may miss precious things that were lost due to trauma, we can heal and rebuild a healthy future to keep all of the babies of the world safe. Peace is possible if we all choose it.
I include tragic misfortunes and terrible struggles in my books, but I paint up characters who help those in need of a positive solution to solve troubles that seem out of their control. There are too many large and small scale problems on every street and hill in the world. I write peaceful ideas in the hope that positivity will spread down those streets and over those hills to reach anyone who needs help the most. Any little bit of help can make the most important difference for one or many. I wish you a peaceful summer, and I urge everyone to do something that helps someone in the coming months. *Ask how you may help, and then listen. Work with people to solve and prevent problems. Ask if you did help, and listen again. Repeat forever.
I am working on a way for a percentage of each sale to be donated to an organization that directly aids those in need of help while searching for a safe, new home. Being forced to live a nomadic, uncertain life is cruel, dangerous, and terrifying. We all need a steady, safe home. We all can work together to help everyone have this basic need. Our world must get out of this constant survival mode and change into a deep, lasting time of healing. Equality and safety is needed worldwide.
In my gift shop, I also feature artwork and photography inspired by my travels. Nature adores us always…trailing all the way from a rose wall in Tuscany back home to a sweet rose blooming in our New England cottage garden. Help, don’t harm. Preserve nature. Enjoy your unique senses of nature.

My books are cosy to read, or listen to, when at home, on a work break or weekend, and while travelling. Many of my stories are set in New England, such as my Sage Rose Sorrel children’s books, but here are some others that you might love to tag along with as my characters explore new favourite places.
Amaranthe tells of living in NYC and France. Leona has lived in two homes in Italy: one by the mountains and one by the sea. Ellary Eden grows a helpful, enchanting garden in the Witching World! I have just finished three fresh novels for you to explore soon. There is one especially delicious new book that is set in Belgium! Every time you explore a new place, you learn so much for your life ahead.
Happy, safe travels to you! Love, Amor Milagre
