Five Things I’m Grateful for Today

Oh, for the love of a real weekend! Here are some happy things we enjoyed today:

Fresh rainfall to nourish our organic garden, which we have been working in all week. (New garden renovation posts are growing.)
A gifted nurse who helped us to have a quick visit today.
A lake which provided us with peace, wishing stones, and sand races.
Time together to catch up on our spring to do list. (We are the king and queen of odd little jobs about the house.)
Cooking a cosy dinner of homemade noodles together. (I have included this pasta dough and various sauce recipes in my upcoming cookbook!)

I also began my first oil paintings of the season, with our garden daffodils as my warm up subject.

As our new flower bulb patches have doubled over winter, we delight in our lush cheerful daffodils. A return to the piano is just as refreshing. New songwriters explore their soul. It is always a season for learning. Unforgotten shapes of petals and notes fill the warming air. We plant seeds. I scribble away…tulips soon.

Keeping Cool in the Shade

Amor Milagre Kitchen Design, Stay Cool with a Shade Sail

The sun is now upon us, the snow has melted, and a shade sail helps us to keep the new kitchen cool and shaded with less help from the AC and curtains this spring. Loving this vacation-glow that it casts on our table as the wind billows, showing movement and change in the world…make it positive, kids. Staying hydrated, planting more fresh air-producing evergreens to look out upon, and cooking up soups and breads only once a week also keep us at a steady temperature. It is now salad growing and enjoying weather. We’re making our own mustard, with a sail and toast to match. Get a little sail (or make your own with sun fabric, hooks, and grommets) if you’re in need of a bit of shade. It really helps. It only takes a few minutes to install. Now, for juice and strawberries…

Keep cool and hydrated…it’s heating up out there….highly sensitives and babies especially.

*P.S. Our world needs more (privately owned) helpful organizations so people everywhere have access to water, food, medicine, clothing, support, shelter, and therapy. If everyone could realize that the old wars are over, then they really could be so, and then all the time from now on can be used for healing and supporting people and nature. Every day is full of chances and choices. Make them good, for everyone. Even the smallest improvements shine and build up hope to welcome more wonderful possibilities for tomorrow.

World, admit all mistakes honestly and feel all the pain they caused in order to learn from them. Decide on expressing truth from now on. You cannot continue and move forward otherwise. Every person must stop all violence, greed, and denial. Peace is possible. Redesign our systems to allow peace for everyone. Every home, town, and up needs peaceful empathic leaders who care about everyone, the earth, and the entire universe. All of this static and pollution can end. Breathe. Heal now. Work on healing this chaos every day. Choose peace. Stand up for it. Require respect and peace as the standard for harmonious living. Use your air and words for peace. Write your stories. Share truth. No one can do this solely on their own, but if everyone helps, peace can live everywhere daily. A united connection, that is already engrained within every person, can bring peace, healing, and a positive healthy future.

Sow seeds of peace into everything you do. You can do it. Spit-spot…and off we go…

Preserve books, especially peaceful books, as they are being scrubbed now. Express freedom peacefully.

7 Simple Ways to Show You Love Someone

Ask “What have you been thinking about lately?” Listen, smile, and open all of your senses.
Sit quietly together whilst doing something like reading, mulling over puzzle pieces, or listening to nature or an audiobook.
Walk and talk. Let your lives flow out and intertwine in the fresh air.
Share your stories and compare moments or times in your lives. Find similarities, differences, and silver linings.
Daydream and list goals and outtings to try out for the year. Book tickets, save stubs, scrapbook your observations, and repeat and expand things you have enjoyed.
Laugh over silly cartoons or old movies. Set a time every week, even for half an hour, to unwind and be young.
Be fearlessly and happily yourself, allowing the ones you love to know and truly adore you.

Bonus: Leaving love notes in pockets & books reminds your Dear Ones that they are special to you. You can also leave audio messages for them to save. Keep a kiss in your wallet. This is most helpful for them to refer to these sacred tokens of love on challenging days. Keepsakes can be free to warm hearts.
