Amor Milagre-March Days: Floral Hallway Wallpaper & Spring Tree Decor
This March, task by task, we’re adding refreshing beauty and usefulness to our newly hand-renovated Rose Cottage home. A gorgeous Sandberg floral wallpaper invites us down into our magical shimmering bedrooms. The soft blue-green and blooms are a breath of fresh air, and the artwork details showcase a fine embroidery style reminiscent of wise crafts of yesteryear. We are cutting our remaining woodworking projects, custom designed furniture pieces to fit in specific areas in our home. Storage, and easy to clean flooring, are important for an organised, enjoyable, healthy home and these pieces allow for this. We’re also looking at our year to reset boundaries. Knowing what is healthy for you is vital for being able to live the adventures you’re most looking forward to, especially if it’s a simple day where everyone is home together and feeling well. I will release some lovely films about our recent and past renovation and interior designs, as well as some organic gardening processes, too. Check back for these finished looks soon as we savour our last months of darling snow and quiet peacefulness.
Time is a precious fleeting invisible thing, and what remains is our proof, so let’s make it good. Love, ~ Amor Milagre

Music of the Moment: Carry the Zero, Built to Spill
A little rearranging and tidying of the home opens the soul up for happy new adventures and airy possibilities.
We moved the fluffy white rug out of our newly renovated library-atelier-homeschool room and let our new cosy brown cacao floor shine. The sofa was set up under the ‘Of Earth & Air’ triptych flanked by the new end tables and lamps for easy reading in the mornings and afternoons. A bookshelf tidy-up allows for easy access to our favourite stories and school lesson books. The new keyboard awaits little fingers in sunlight, ready to turn the page to new songs. Our handmade table, used for printers last year, is now our new lesson area which is good for posture, backlit by the sun. Yoga and gentle ballet take the floor. Spring stretches into the freshly made kitchen pantry room with a new tapestry, records to sing along with, and baskets of shallots and garlic to keep us well as the wind decides its course. Fresh snow falls for us to play in, and we savour this quiet still with smiling nervous systems. Glorious seed packets sit in a wooden box by the mudroom door, awaiting their nutritious earth.
This spring, I am channeling Vianne Rocher (Chocolat) and Aunt Lucy (Cobble Street Cousins) as we begin a little local child-parent club to practice poetry, art, and nature. We are all fresh in sage green checks and dusty periwinkle embroidery dresses with white petticoat hems. I paint up Sage Rose Sorrel garden scenes in watercolour washes for Sage’s special children’s treasury. We exchange tartan and sparkling silver ribbons on the outdoor sconces for cornflower blue and cream.
Coming up soon are some freshly illustrated book character card-prints, late winter owl wax seal stamp stickers, and early spring artwork. Once we can sit en plein air at the beaches, new oil paintings will release in my shop.
We wish you a lovely spring, full of positive energy. Love, ~Amor Milagre

I am working on some new oils to go in this atelier room as these paintings are for sale in my shop. This is a revolving art gallery. New work is displayed each month. Shop these large scale pieces, as well as smaller ones for any sized space. The triptych tells a story, but it may be split up. Isn’t it fun to know you can own a piece of a story? I like the idea of collectors tracking them all down like puzzle pieces. New artwork is coming up!

Amor Milagre Spring 2026 Mood Board ‘Rhythm’ (pics from pinterest)
This spring is all about appreciating, and keeping, natural rhythms. I make new boards before the season changes to help us focus on the transition and the daily mood. Of course, spring cleaning and finishing furniture/home renovation projects are on the menu. Other goals may be more specific like planting a certain flower seed to grow amongst our handmade stone walls or painting blue thawing beachscapes. Mostly, the continuance of natural, quiet, sweet, loving moments is the theme. A gentle reminder for softness, blooms, strolls, fresh air, and inherent bliss ties together the mood here for our rejuvenating springtime. We’re feeling especially nostalgic now. We celebrate what we have and mend any loose buttons. Spring is a time for positive changes, and our world can benefit from healthy options going forward. This is the moment to live. I’m focusing on illustrating many of my peaceful novels and children’s books this season. New art print stationery cards for these watercolours are coming soon. We savour the winter still, growing peace, and we’ll use the energy of this board to keep the calming rhythms going throughout the rest of the busier seasons. Unwinding is healing.

First, I removed the ‘Air’ Winter Mood Board pictures. We put them in a grimoire-type scrapbook to look back on for personal growth and renewed inspiration.

Winter is definitely my favourite now. Meditate and grow peace.
Amor Milagre Hallway Renovation. The last thing to change out was the old ceiling light. Here is a new flower-shaped glower.
After renovating every second and every inch of our Rose Cottage, we are now getting to the last of the last details to finish, such as the light in the bedroom hallway. It feels good to be unwinding from all the effort of postitive change.
Hallway-Before Reno just moved in.
Here is the hallway as it was when we moved in. We had to replace everything and refresh the house as it was very very dusty and pet danderish. Bland. Boring. Kinda spooky.
Changes Seen Below: We painted the walls a cheerful airy light cream to reflect light from bedroom windows, removed the doors and added a full wall across the back wall, refitted the linen closet, and replaced the yucky old green carpet with lovely new hardwood flooring, FSC with radiant heating underneath, so walking this way is warm and cosy. No runner rug is needed. It’s easy to clean now. We keep those allergens away. A rug here would trip us up, too. It’s a much-walked area. We moved the nursery bathroom door and gutted it, combining that space with two closets to make a beautiful full bathroom. In many rooms, we smoothed the ceiling, but left the original in here. We also added air conditioning, a must for sanity during these summers now. See how we placed the ceiling vent quietly away from direct flow. It flows in every direction for every bedroom to share in the coolness.
I won’t show our gallery art walls as we’re private about family and boundaries, but this space really is much prettier in person. Walking through the ages and transition from crayon to watercolour is magical and inspiring each day. I chose a mixture of wood and gold/silver frames of all sizes and shapes. First handprints and the origins of our family live here. It’s a hallway of sweetness for us with room for more art and profiles on the right side. Left is full!
A few more things to do: Wallpaper on the back wall in spring, and a lovely large painting in the center to anchor the space.
This house is cosy and sits by mountains and lakes. It’s surounded by trees, so I went soft and sleepy with the colour palette, lifting up rooms to bounce light and deepening others to lean into the shadows. The overall effect is a much wanted and cosy hug.
Amor Milagre Hallway Renovation. Old Light that came with this 90s house that we never use.
Going from overlooked to the feature of this long, house-wide seen hallway, lighting is key.
Amor Milagre Hallway Renovation. New flower light. We put dimmers everywhere. Now, we can really see our pretty pictures since we definitely use this light. It’s soft and glowy.
We’ll put a special wallpaper on this back wall at the end with a scenic painting. I’m thinking a high-up view of an ocean and some French-Italian gardens to extend the imagination out. Just have to wait to paint that seascape as the novel illustrations will keep me busy all winter. So excited about the new books!
Amor Milagre Hallway RenovationAmor Milagre Hallway Renovation. Sensitivity-wise, and aesthetically, we prefer golden dim lamps with natural shades.
Little touches make sweetness and bounce the eye around the constantly angling composition. Think 3-D for interiors, light and shadows. Now, we can see much better in the hallway and it lends a cosy mood in the restful darkness of winter.
*And now, for a cup of vanilla licorice tea and a sweet reading hour on the sofa with the dolls, bears, and bunnies.
Reading ‘Hitty’, a doll’s memoir. Babes love making even more tiny doll clothes. Old socks and fabric squares from the gifting Borrower clan are the basis for these garments. Sewing is fun for all ages. Get out the lace, ribbons, and button jars for endless fashion design possibilities!
It’s time to get the babies dancing as we decorate for the winter holidays. Roll about in the fluffy feather-light snow, have a cup of cocoa, and snuggle up to read friendly winter tales. This is our cosiest time of year. Happy Holidays! Love, ~ Amor Milagre
(We’re not religious, but we enjoy holiday music from all over the world.)
