Nature guides us, connects us, and frees us. Our most meaningful adventures are our own. We prefer our wanderings as the annual festivals are too loud, pollutive, uninteresting, and exhausting. This autumn, we ramble out with the long waves and tumbling orchards, low tide beaches, hollow cold pumpkin patches, and our own cosy Rose Cottage bakes. Our Sunday mornings are for jack-o-lantern carvings and fall-themed word puzzles. We still have much to do, but it’s far less than before, so we’re enjoying our slow moments under quilted clouds and October breezes. Fun is easily found by accident!
*Shop: NEW Nature Photography (Fine Art Prints and Stationery) are coming up, featuring our past Summer-Autumn film archives. (Not shown here yet.) New pastels are dusting in, too.
A magical autumn to you! Love, ~ Amor Milagre

Music of the Moment: Hermetism album by Joep Beving (perfect car ride piano)

*Shop Art Gallery: I’ll be drawing up some lakescape pastels this month. I love the autumn light…

After we tidy our Rose Cottage gardens, we like to snuggle up with tea and bakes with spooky shows and funny games. October is play time!

In our Atelier
Homeschool art class this week hints at an upcoming collection for my shop: Hand-painted clay ornaments for each season. These ones are just for our own seasonal tree, but the next batch I make will form a limited series of unique holiday decor gifts. Bats, pumpkins, witch’s hats, and ghosts are at play here. Coming soon!

Little witches love to giggle over silly games.
This new spirit haunting our game closet, Stupid Deaths, is both interesting and hilarious!

Happy guessing…did that really happen?

As always, I’ve been writing into the night…new books are under wing. Tomato soup is simmering…
Love to all of the October Babies! ~ Amor Milagre

A cosy autumnal pumpkin grows an enchantment of love and magic just as it does in my Leona’s Homecoming book. Read to find out whose nickname this design is inspired by! This ink drawing dwells on every spine of this novel and it’s featured as a chapter icon in the book and on this Leona stationery set.

It’s raining… and so we bake up some Halloweeny birthday treats. This week, I’m shipping out my seasonal books, wax seals, art prints, and stationery to lovely customers, hand-pressing a new autumn wax seal sticker collection, writing out fresh vegan organic recipes for my upcoming cookbook, and illustrating my latest novel pages.
The leaves have goldened. They fall lightly down our windows as we learn about cell walls and French verbs. How do you classify living organisms these days? Peaceful or non-peaceful? The light jackets are out and waiting to go explore leaf-crunching gardens, library stacks, and haunted mansions. We stroll graveyards, reading inscriptions of eternal love.
Evenings are full of new stories and paintings, soon to be shared with you, Dear Ones.

When I designed these rooms, writing/reading nooks were at the top of the piority list. When you work from home, it’s important to move about in the house. Our Rose Cottage kitchen is our very own cafe where we watch rain drip down our pumpkins, write to the season, and enjoy every changing moment.

Last week, our foods were either made of pumpkin or shaped like pumpkins.

Hot, buttery biscuits are a fun way to greet loved ones at the end of a long day. Just plate them, don’t throw them!

Mini pumpkin pies (just pumpkin and spices) are a baby favourite here. We also made very trick-or-treat night rice krispy treats with PB and chocolate and then watched spooky movies.

Our house plants are noticing the change in the skies and reach up to grab the last summer sun rays.

Last evening was all about homemade pasta, a baked dish, that was cosy cosy cosy!

Birthday celebrations include all of the senses. Go for a bicycle ride!

This new design matches the pumpkin featured in my Leona’s Homecoming novel series. It’s right on the spine. It is also included in the matching illustrated book chapter icon notecard set. View this growing collection. Vol.II is in the works! This series is all about the unique beauty of each season.

Have a ball, and stay well, with this bewitching sweet children’s book. Try out the healthy soup recipe in the back.

The autumn month pages tell about what Sage loves to do when the leaves begin to fall.

Sage preserves food from her garden and embraces each time of year.

All year round it rains, and I love using this Rainy Day Notecard & Wax Seal Set to send to Dear Ones. I design what I love, and I hope you love it, too!
