After my family met my book character illustrations for ‘Botiza’ this week, they have requested the same for all of my novels. Sorry Arthritis, get your stretches in because we will be scratching up some cross hatches all winter.
It was the plan anyways, but I love their excitement!✨The previous hardback novels don’t have the full page interior illustrations, only cover and chapter icon art, but the upcoming treasuries will include a selection of character and scene illustrations for old and new stories. My new ‘Leona’ paperback will have them, too.
Although I describe many of my characters in terms of their qualities, allowing my readers to imagine their physical features as they choose, these illustrations will be handy when casting time comes around. I write every novel and children’s book to be easily adapted to film. My fully colourful children’s books are either illustrated with watercolour, oil paint, or pastel. The novels have colour covers, and the interiors are done in black and white ink drawings. These peaceful stories are what we would like to watch. I also record audiobooks of the entire collection of books for listeners to relax and imagine these pleasurable worlds. Once my latest books are released, I hope my new readers and listeners will find my family of friends as adorably irresistible as we do.
