The change in the air, a bend in the road, a stone for a rest,
A growing bulb in the garden to glow on All Hallow’s Eve,
Oh, how I love Autumn,
With her dusty, dried seeds
And her wildly blowing hair,
Tussled with crunching leaves,
And branches, almost bare.
She knows me. We walk down the wooded road,
Under the canopies and beside the ferns, to where…I cannot see.
We walk all alone, until the road turns,
And we are sparkling in the sunlight.
