Lovingly fill up your senses and fall into nature, especially if you’re tired in any way. Little hands scoop sand with shells. They fill little shoes, covering socks, dusted off for the ride home. We’re happy with our morning of inhalations of fresh, sea air. Record new stories invented in warm embraces at bedtime. (Check back this year for bursts of our new book releases, for parent, child, friend, and everyone!) Inhale love, sort, keep goodness, exhale love for the universe. Let it roll out to sea on a white crested wave, and inspire a smile on a tired soul a shore away.
Music of the Moment: The Body, Nina Nastasia
Sweeten your life in language, expression, address, and home. When choosing new items, research them well, and bring home a few durable, sustainable, inspiring, natural helpers. Create healthy routines that set your day and night up for smiles and good, deep breathing. Making the bed, a satisfying cozy breakfast, moments for stillness and breathing, and celebrating gratitude through all of the many little choices are ways to help yourself daily. Everything adds up and explodes over time in some form, so why not add up goodness to release in a burst of joyous beauty all around you, like sweet laughter and spring blossoms? This year, I’ll release new product lines to help with all of life’s little & big things, to keep track of, aid in, remember now & later, and cherish.
Warm yourself, with a deeply delicious meal, after fresh cool wanderings under the trees and by the sea.
Non-GMO, organic, fresh, fresh garden / local, vegan ingredients:
Soak dried beans overnight in a large bowl of water. (Buy organic beans in bulk to save money, time, & health. We used: Fava, Black, and Kidney.) The next day, cook on medium low with water, perhaps add some more, and add a lid, stirring sometimes to prevent sticking. Add 1 tsp Ras el Hanout, 1 tsp Cinnamon, 1 tsp Pepper, (No Salt for babies), 1 Chopped Sweet Onion, 1 Clove Garlic, and 1-2 tbsp 100% bar of Cacao. (The onion, tomato sauce, & garlic sweeten the chili.) Cook down until thick. Serve warm when beans are al dente. Sprinkle some fresh herbs and nutritional yeast over top and enjoy!
(Leave out Cacao for babies, as it’s a type of stimulant, and add 1 tsp & mix into adult bowlfuls.) Enjoy every day until gone. Chili ages deliciously!
Magic is in fresh laundry, a soft oatmeal bath & a movie / song by candlelight, cozy pajamas, stories before bed, brushed hair-teeth-filed nails, taking loving care, and choosing everything good for yourself!

Try out different bean combinations for various recipes such as salads, chili, stews, soups, fritters, pies, and more! (Today’s Mix: Fava, Black, and Kidney beans.)
An old, Italian peasant-style cooking trick from my ancestors: To stretch a meal like chili, add in small amounts of diced (toasted/a few days old homemade) bread, crackers, or cornmeal, lots of vegetables using all of the (researched) edible parts for each plant, like stalks, leaves, roots, etc. No waste and great taste for many people and/or meals. This honours the time, energy, and beauty the plants took to grow.
Mashed steamed potatoes, beans, and freshly picked lettuce from the garden makes a lovely spring salad.
The landscape has been greening up slowly here, even through very rainy days.
Carry yourself outside for a calming of the senses. Design your home with breaths of fresh air and a watery flow for peaceful memories.
