Whole grain spelt flour is a wonderful alternative to other flours, (though we only have occasionally for optimal health.) Pair with eggs, soups, stews, or have pan toasted with a buttery fruit spread and a hard boiled egg for a warm, cozy, and delicious meal.
(Check with your local organic market to make sure that the bran and the germ were not removed from the organic spelt flour you’re choosing. We get ours in the bulk section. Non-GMO, organic, local, free range, grass-fed ingredients:
2 C Whole Grain Spelt Flour
1 tbsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Local Sea Salt
6 tbsp Butter
2/3 C Kefir
Mix ingredients and add any spices, herbs, or flavors you like such as cinnamon, rosemary, or parmigiano reggiano hard cheese. Form into biscuits shapes by hand and place on a baking sheet.
