Seeds and Yogurt
(Note: We don’t use peanuts, granola,…or honey of 7-16.)
Non-GMO, organic, local, free range, grass-fed ingredients:
There are many healthy snacks. My favorite is whole milk yogurt with flax, chia, sunflower, and pumpkin seeds with organic Saigon Cinnamon. Better than any dessert and high in protein. No need for honey as sugar is addictive and isn’t needed because the flavor of the yogurt and seeds are so full. (A great film about sugar is Fed Up.)
** Choose non-GMO whole milk Yogurt, with no sugar. It has 20+g of protein in a cup/serving. It’s more plain in taste at first, but with cinnamon, seeds and fresh fruit, over time you’ll love the taste. Other yogurt contains sugar, fat, preservatives, coloring, etc and not healthy.
Yogurt like this on it’s own is a great first food for babies. Just follow the usual guidelines of small amounts of one food, trying once in morning, and watch for food allergies, consulting your doctor for allergy tests/questions and instructions for your baby’s specific needs, age, and development.
I store the seeds all together. Shake or stir to mix. Great for any age, a good habit to start for children. Bring some seeds with you to replace any fake foods you might be eating on the go. Zing! Natural energy.
